Discuss the parts of the female reproductive system and its functions
and the proper way to take care the reproductive organs.
1. OVARY
The ovaries are small, oval- shaped glands that are located on either side of
the uterus. The ovaries produce eggs and hormones.
2. FALLOPIAN TUBE
These are narrow tubes that are attached to the upper part of the uterus and
serve as pathways of the ova (egg cells) to travel from the ovaries to the
uterus. Fertilization of an egg by a sperm normally occurs in the fallopian
tubes.
There are two fallopian tubes, called the uterine tubes or the oviducts.
3. UTERUS
The uterus is also called the womb. It is a muscular bag with a soft lining. The
uterus is where a baby develops until its birth. The uterus is only about three
inches long and two inches wide, but during pregnancy it changes rapidly and
dramatically.
4. VAGINA
The vagina is a canal that joins the cervix (the lower parts of uterus) to the
outside of the body. It is also known as the birth canal.
5. CERVIX
The cervix is a ring of muscle at the lower end of the uterus. It keeps the baby
in place while the woman is pregnant. During menstruation, the cervix
stretches open slightly to allow the endometrium to be shed. This stretching is
believed to be the cramping pain that many women experience.
1. Always wash your external reproductive organs with mild soap and water
regularly.
2. Do not borrow underwear from anybody.
3. Always wear clean underwear and change it daily.
4. Wear sanitary napkin whenever needed.
5. If you experience pain on your reproductive organ, seek medical and advice
immediately.
3. Application
The class will be divided into two groups. The teacher will supervise the
students in doing the activity. The group will select a representatives who will
be going to report the answers of their group.
Group 1.

in your own words.
Group 2.
