During the assembly, the principal and speakers discussed the importance of the SGC and their roles in supporting the school. Teachers then facilitated the election of the SGC Chairperson and other officers. The newly formed SGC is enthusiastic about their goals and responsibilities to help ensure a successful school year through learning continuity in the "New Normal".

    Narrative Report on SGC ASSEMBLY


    The school holds a great responsibility in providing education and molding the youth to become
    competent members of the society. This great responsibility corresponds to a greater demand of effort
    from all concerned individuals to make the school operate and perform excellently. Believing that the
    school’s success is only attainable if students, the administrative and teaching personnel, parents, and
    community stakeholders work hand in hand towards a common goal, the School Governing Council is
    needed to be established.

    On the 21st of October, the Tagpangi National High School, headed by the school principal, Mr.
    Gil U. Araneta, held a School Governing Council Assembly to elect reliable SGC officers and formulate
    plans for the school year 2022-2023. The emcee, Ms. Genefer Perenio prepared a canned prayer to bless
    the program. The School Principal Mr. Gil U. Araneta, delivered an opening remark discussing the goals
    of the SGC which highlights the spirit of volunteerism and the important roles and responsibilities of
    everyone in attaining the successful implementation of learning continuity in the New Normal. The
    school invited the Barangay Officials, Catechist, IP’s and the SSG in support to the said program.

    Basic Concepts related to School Governance, Composition of SGC, guiding principles of SGC,
    Indicators of Effective SGC and It’s functions were discussed profoundly by the speakers. Also, the
    Limitations of SGC in the exercise of Authority was highlighted. It was also mentioned that the SGC will
    play a vital role in formulating the SIP (School Implementation Plan) and the SBM (School-Based
    Assessment).

    The Election of SGC Officers was facilitated by Ms. Analy Duhaylungsod a Senior High School
    teacher and an alumna of Tagpangi National High School. After the said Election Kagawad Grace
    Hagonao was the elected as the Chairperson and Ms. Analy Duhaylungso as the appointed chairperson.
    The assembly ended with a newly established School Governing Council geared with enthusiasm and
    strong plans that they are determined to accomplish successfully.
