NOTICE
Unlike the traditional face-to-face classroom environment, online or virtual
environment is a bit difficult to manage. It is because Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
is imaginary and not in the physical sense. It has no corners or walls and it can be set up
with the support of technology.
As a teacher, what have you discovered to be easy to implemented in your virtual class?
I discovered that virtual class is so hard to manage because not all students have
stable connection, plus often power interruption. The easy I have implemented
rules to the students is the attending of virtual class even not so long. I recorded
the class then monitor who joined.
How did the students show their active participation in the lesson?
Students show their active participation in the lesson if they are always present to
the meeting and on time. Use raise hand emoji to interact with the teacher or
asking and answer the question. Student/s direct message the teacher whenever
there’s a clarification.
ANALYZE
Which of the following is/are your analysis/analyses of on-line learning environment?
Check one or more.
_✓_ It was difficult to observe the physical behavior of the students.
_✓_ It takes time for students to learn how to use the platform.
_✓_ Students who are alone in their home space find difficulty to make responses.
_✓_ Internet connectivity is a great factor to support a conducive environment.
REFLECT
As a future teacher I feel that the on-line learning environment can be safe if
The teacher knows how to use gadgets and applications and if the students are
using it appropriately, responsively, and ethically.
I think that teaching in a virtual environment is
Challenging, just like what I said above that in virtual environment students in your
class must have strong internet and stable connection to avoid lagging that
affects student’s learning and understanding.
WRITE ACTION RESEARCH PROMPTS
OBSERVE
Identify the problems brought about by the on-line learning environment.
Slow of internet connection
Computer illiterate
REFLECT
How would you solve this problem?
Student must try if they are computer illiterate to practice it and be familiar with
technology. They can ask help to the elders or peers to assist them in virtual
learning. Students should have a plan A and plan B if they know that there is a
slow internet connection in their area, they can sit in with their classmate with
strong connection of internet.
PLAN
What initial plan do you intend to do to solve the problem?
My initial plan I intend to do first, all concerns must tell to the principal or other
government related. Second find learning system except virtual learning for the
students who have lack of internet connection and computer illiterate, School
and teachers can implement flexible learning, therefore, students will learn
equally.
