CONTRIBUTIONS AND RELEVANCE OF
THE MATERIAL IN THE UNDERSTANDING
PHILIPPINE HISTORY

CONTRIBUTION
The paper provides information on our ancestors' circumstances during the Spanish
regime, which is useful in understanding how they were feeling at the time. It explains
what the Filipinos did to ward off the foreign invaders by displaying a heroic act in
defending the nation, says former President Benigno Aquino III. It is crucial for us to
understand or study our past in order to recognize the bravery and sacrifices made by our
heroes.

RELEVANCE

The "Mga Gunita ng Himagsikan", a work by Emilio Aguinaldo, is regarded as pertinent to the
overarching story of Philippine history. It not only includes recollections but also historical details
about our history, such as details about Filipino ancestors. In a similar vein, it demonstrates how our
nation's citizens fiercely resisted the Spanish in order to win our freedom. Dr. Jose Rizal famously
observed, "Ang kabataan ay pag-asa ng bayan," it is our duty to fight for our nation.
If you don't know history,
then you don't know anything.
ALWAYS REMEMBER
