General Terms and Conditions – News and other SMS Alerts

By using SMS alerts services, you will be in acceptance of these terms and conditions.

To Activate Service Type REG relevant service KEY WORD and SMS to the relevant short code

To Deactivate Service Type DREG <KEYWORD> and SMS to <Service Short code>

  1. Customers who need to activate the news/other SMS alerts service should activate same by sending the relevant key word of the service to the SMS code assigned for the service in the following format.
  2. The short code and the keyword should be obtained at the time the news/Other alerts are promoted or advertised to the customer. The keyword and short codes will be available in SLT-Mobitel website as per the discretion of SLT Mobitel.
  3. Customers who need to deactivate the service should do so by sending the same key word and the SMS code used for the service activation in the following format.
  4. All Singlish and Tanglish alerts will be provided only in English text. Unicode characters (Sinhala/Tamil) will not be used to provide the said services.
  5. Customers who activate SMS alerts provided via Unicode characters (Sinhala / Tamil) should ensure that the device they use to activate the service supports Unicode. This is a sole responsibility of the user and SLT-Mobitel will not be responsible in case the device fails to support the successful service delivery. The service fee will not be refundable in such events.
  6. Customers who activate the service will be charged a subscription fee for the relevant period (Daily /Monthly) as communicated to the user at the time of the service activation. Users agree to pay the subscription service fee by activating a service
  7. The subscription fee of the service will be renewed automatically, until the user deactivates the service and will be charged on each renewal depending on the period which the fee is applicable (Daily /Monthly)
  8. It is the sole responsibility of the user to read the SMS alerts on time and Mobitel or the Service provider will not be responsible if the user fails to do so. SLT-Mobitel shall not be responsible for refunding service charges in such events
  9. The user can deactivate the service at any given time by sending the deactivation SMS as mentioned in above condition related to deactivation of service (Point 3) or notifying Mobitel customer service team via hotline 1717.
  10. In addition to the Terms and conditions laid down by SLT-Mobitel, User will be bound by the terms and conditions laid down by service providers (if any) related to the services activated by the user
  11. users agree to indemnify SLT-Mobitel for any technical errors, which may occur while accessing the service
  12. Mobitel reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time at its discretion.

SMS Tweety service is the SMS based service where users will be able to get their favorite celebrities updates on daily by SMS. 
 
2. How to subscribe for the service?
 
Customers can dial #3313# and customer can select the favorite artists and can subscribes with the service
 
OR
 
Customers can send a SMS to activate the service. Type <Artist Name> and send to 3313
Ex: Type IRAJ send to 3313
 
3. How to unsubscribe from the service?
 
Customers can dial #3313# and customer can select the artist that customer subscribed and customer can unsubscribe from the service
 
OR
 
Customers can send a SMS to deactivate the service. Type STOP (space) Artist Name and send to 3313
Ex: Type STOP IRAJ send to 3313
 
 4. Who will be eligible for the service?
 
All Mobitel Postpaid and Prepaid customers can enjoy with the service
  
5. How much will be the service charge for the service?
 
Customer will be charged Rs.2+tax per day (auto renewal)
 
6.What are the benefits of this service?
 
Users can receive their favorite artist’s updates via SMS and can keep connect with them. Also, we do campaigns for this service and users can reward many prizes while enjoying the service. This promo valid from 26th October to 26th November 2020 and one winner will eligible to win Rs.50, 000 in cash.
