Readers find this title both intriguing and captivating. While some may find it leaves them hanging at the end, others recommend it wholeheartedly. The vocabulary may be a bit overwhelming for some, but overall, it's a good book that keeps you interested and wanting more.

There is nothing romantic, sexy, endearing, or enjoyable about this dreadful story. It's such a disappointing lack of imagination and cohesive thought. The male characters are misogynistic, abusive, and vile. I'm still disgusted that Royce chose to drug Belinda with his blood. It's as if the author has no concept of consent where these men are concerned. Or perhaps she fetishizes violence towards other women, considering how disempowered she wrote the female protagonist, who is also stupid and unlikeable. I wish I could get a refund for my time. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

A little bit more graphic than I was expecting but I was intrigued by the characters. I didn't like the ending but have to hope it's gonna work out. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

I really enjoyed this book! It had erotic scenes, hard scenes, and layers of mystery and unpredictability. Because of the cliffhanger, I IMMEDIATELY have to start book 2. Great full story by the author! I highly recommend - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

So let me get this straight, has a one night stand and tells her he can't get her pregnant but surprised he got her pregnant. She ends up hooking up with a really rich guy who abuses her. When she finally gets away from the abuse of husband she goes to a guy who immediately fucks her and bites her and hurts her but it's okay cuz he's hot. And he's possessive of her just like her ex but she just can't get away from him. It's all abuse and she is an idiot.2 people found this helpful

Didn't like it at all.
- it's not romance because it's just instalust,
-Domestic violence, graphic and traumatic without the redemption through strength of the h
-BAD communication, just angst and inner monologs (H is of the 'my decisions are law I don't have talk about anything)
-h portrait as regaining her inner strength but is bullied, tortured and manhandled by the H with a thanks
-the ladies man of the group roofies the only likable character and its boys will be boys okay
-so many glaaaaring inconsistencies in the story (why is the most important witness ever going to the station alone and spouting her name so anyone can hear? Dances with a stranger at a reststop after being shot?)
One of the worst stories I spent time on!3 people found this helpful

Enslaved in Shadows by Tigris Eden
Paranormal romance. First book in the Shadow Unit series. Cliffhanger, high level.
Complex with a multilayered storyline. Extremes from raunchy, explicit sex to gruesome torture and violence. Both with heavy manipulative motives and driving predatory instincts. Both that went on for pages and pages.
The phrase “beyond the point of pain” was used a couple of times in the sex scenes.
Frankly as a whole, it was too much for me. It was too twisted from several points.
The immediate protection nature of the grandmother was precious. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Wow what an interesting and unusually book. To me this book was half erotic half paranormal, so I guess it could be classified as a paranormal erotic romance. I admit that I do not usually read paranormal romance but I really enjoyed this one. It did leave me wondering about a few things.
The book starts out with Jes (or Jesminda) and Belinda (or Bells) on a short vacation. Jes meets Draven across from a bar. Her description is more than just man-candy. He is everything every woman has dreamed of in one package. Something that will make a grandmother sit up and take notice. I can honestly picture this man-candy in my mind. Dark wavy black hair, nice tan, muscles on top of muscles, so tall I need a ladder to look directly into his eyes, eyes that you get lost in, I could go on and on but you get the picture.
Jes and Bells are on an island for the Erotic Carnival or a little fun in the sun spot. Bells is supposed to help keep Jes from over indulging in everything. Maybe it is me but if I cannot control my desire then no friend is going to be able to control it for me.
I honestly do not understand how Draven kept saying he loved Jes but did not treat her like a queen. If a man loves a woman then why do they not treat her like there is no other woman in the world. Then there is the torture scene in the book. I know that the author put it there and that is the way the plot flowed for her but I do admit that I did not like it. However not all readers will like everything about a book they read. Authors will never be able to please everyone. Other than those two small things I truly enjoyed this book.
If you follow this blog then you will know I cannot talk to much about the book I am reviewing. I will end up telling everything about the book and then that is no fun for the reader or the author. I guess that is because I have to explain so much at work and go into lots of details. I work in the automotive industry and details are everything when there is a problem or we are trying to figure something out.
I apologize to the author that I cannot write a better review for her. However the bunnies and I enjoyed this book. Thanks for a great read Tigris Eden. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Enslaved In Shadows:
This is the first book in the Shadow Unit series by Tigris Eden and pulls together a lot of fun fictional facets (alliterate much?). Special ops, special abilities, suckers, shifters (see – still alliterating). Close to 400 pages for only $3 – yee haw, a great buy! Draven & Jes have a hot & heavy meet & greet [wink, wink] and then he disappears…leaving behind a little surprise. Five years later, Jes is seeking asylum from her abusive husband in exchange for information in dismantling his criminal empire of selling vampire blood. Imagine her surprise when her bodyguard ends up being her Baby Daddy!
The story starts off with a bang [against a wall – snicker] and just keeps going from there. This is a great suspenseful, paranormal romance. Here’s my hint, though – have “Burned In Shadows” in the wings, because the SECOND you finish “Enslaved in Shadows”, you will REALLY want to read on! (Let’s just say that I was NOT happy with Tigris Eden LOL!) - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

If you like your books steamy and thrilling then look no further than Enslaved in Shadows! This hot Paranormal Romantic Thriller is a keep you on the edge of your seat kind of book. I love shifter romance and this one has a great plot and fascinating characters.
Jez and Draven is a very turbulent and steamy couple. They have a one night stand that creates a child that Draven doesn’t know about. Five years past and so much has changed for them. Jez is married to an abusive man while Draven is in a relationship with a female shifter. They are thrown back together when Jez needs the help of the Shadow Unit to protect her daughter and herself.
Be prepare – this book has a huge cliff hanger ending!
