About this audiobook

The five witches of the New Orleans Coven each have an elemental affinity, a commission from the city to keep supernatural events in check, and a lot of perfectly reasonable reasons for being alone. But as each witch meets her perfect match, these enchanting women discover love in the most unexpected places. From quirky French Quarter hat shops and elegant Garden District masquerade balls to the fog-shrouded End of the World, love comes in the form of best friends, occult enemies, and complete strangers. Because when it comes right down to it, the Crescent City casts its own mysterious conjurings on everyone who sets foot on her marshy soil, and even the most extraordinary members of this spell-wielding quintet can’t escape the magic of love.

What our readers think

Readers find this title to be a collection of short stories with potential for a full-length book. The stories are light, fast-paced, and enjoyable, although some readers wished for more substance and character development. The world-building and characters are charming, and the underlying lore adds depth to the stories. There are cute witchy romances, including a fun queer romance. While some readers felt that the stories were too short and lacked a fully finished ending, overall, the book was surprisingly enjoyable and a pleasant surprise. It would be interesting to see a full-length novel from this author.

It was okay. It felt like someone was writing the rough draft and decided that was it. Each story had a good storyline that I would have gladly read if they were longer.

Happy I gave this book a shot, but I I definitely wish they were longer. Right when I was ready for the hot and heavy, it stopped.

Felt like a lot was left out of each story, even though every story was great, they didn’t really end with everything fully finished. I wish they were longer.

There were some really cute witchy romances in here. Normally not my type of book but I needed a touch of romance in my life so I gave it a chance. It had some pretty conventional romances but the author threw in a fun queer romance as well which was great. The underlying lore was also pretty fleshed out, which made me more invested in the story. I think the sex scenes were a little bare, and one was even lacking a sex scene, but all in all it was pretty good.

It was okay very confusing and all over the place. Parts I felt were rushed considering I think it’s about 5 different New Orleans Witches.

Can't agree with some of the reviews, it's a collection of 5 short stories about women finding love in a fictional modern day world. The stories are only connected by the fact that these women work together as the 'town witches', and have their own conclusions or open endings according to their individual characters.
Some of them are a bit more steamy than others, but all of them are captivating and incredibly well written. I flew through the book and hope to see or hear more of the author!

    This wasn’t good.
The idea had so much potential with world building, witches, spice, etc.
I would like an entire book about each of the witches

So I have mixed feelings on this one. It's a series of 5 short stories, which means the pace of each story went super fast, almost too fast for love to form. I feel like this was a starting point and each short story could be developed into its own book creating a series and it's a series I would probably love, it has all the supernatural and feel of New Orleans. However in this format it was just...ehhh...
Also, I was not a fan of the narrator. Early on she gave the characters each their own voice with an accent she could not carry throughout so I keep getting confused because, especially in the last story the female lead started the book with a Cajun accent and sometimes when she spoke she had no accent or would start and then it would disappear and by the end she sounded Jamaican. It was a real downer for me.
Overall, I think this had potential, but was given the wrong guidelines. I would like to see it developed into something more someday.

Cute, short and sweet. Better then other reviews make it out to be. Nothing spectacular but it was fun

Not really my cup of tea. Not much in the romance department. More like a wham, bam, you know what I mean type of thing. LOL I prefer more character development before they hit the sack...

I have no one to blame but myself for this decision! While the synopsis is indicative that this might be a story of five witches, it was exactly different mini novellas in one short story. At times some characters made appearances, but for the most each is separate. The insta-love predictable especially with the length, I genuinely feel this could have been so much better if the stories were expanded and intertwined with one another.
