A wonderful day at Gloucester Cathedral was rounded off by the enthusiastic applause of a full audience for our performance of Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610. Superb vocal soloists and the brilliant playing of the Musical & Amicable Society and QuintEssential Sackbut and Cornett Ensemble all conducted by Adrian Lucas complemented the singing of the City Choir in the long-awaited finale to our season. Now for a summer’s rest before preparing for Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius in November.
