Insane views that I never expected to see. Just absolutely gorgeous. It’s difficult because it’s all up hill, and you gotta use some strength to get up angels landing, but it’s a fun adventure and super worth it! We even saw California condors at the top. We went at 9 but it would be best to get there earlier because it was hot on the way down. This is an absolute must do hike at Zion!

I did not get my permit for Angels Landing so decided to check this one out. Steep climb with nice views. I continued on a little further along the West Rim Trail and was rewarded with some nice views (stopped on Refrigerator Peak).

Mid June, water level at the deepest was waist high (I’m 5’7”). Water was cold so be prepared if you hiked in the morning. Wear nylon type of clothing to dry easier as you walk. Definitely rent the gear with boots and sticks. Saw a lot with flip flops, poor souls. Pack a LOT OF WATER. It’s dry and gets hot after mid-day. Beautiful views throughout though. Try to make it a quarter mile past the floating rock (no signs but you won’t miss it).

With the heat. Start as early as possible. I started at 7:30, parking lot was almost full, it’s shaded in the AM, after noon, its direct sun. Bring as much water as you could, coming back with the heat and last mile climbing, probably drink more water than going there. Having a stick is extremely helpful. At the end of the subway there’s a water fall, I’m short I had to swim a bit to get there, the water is not cold at all.

Started at 5:45am from chamberlain. Sinister in 9ish hours. Definitely a long trail. Amazing views. We got on early enough we didn’t see anyone else until Mike 10 or so. Fantastic hike.
