Sugar Spanish peanuts are coated in hardened sugar and great for snacking! For an added kick, you can add cayenne pepper to the peanuts while they cook. Peanuts will be very hot, so do not handle them with bare hands!

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 10 servings

  • 2 cups raw Spanish peanuts with skins

  • 2 cups white sugar

  • 1 ½ cups water

Directions

  1. Line a baking sheet with a plain paper bag or parchment paper.

  2. Stir peanuts, sugar, and water together in a large pot over medium-low heat using a wooden spoon; cook, stirring constantly, until liquid is evaporated and peanuts are coated, 20 to 30 minutes. Carefully pour coated peanuts onto the prepared baking sheet until cooled completely.
