Honey Glazed Ham

This honey glazed ham tastes very much like the famous honey baked ham but costs much less, and there's no need to fight the crowds at holiday time. You can even buy the ham presliced to make it easier and more like the original. It is very good. I make this while preparing the rest of the meal in the kitchen so that I don't forget to baste!

Whether you're cooking for a special occasion or you just want to treat yourself to a delicious dinner, you can't go wrong with a honey-glazed ham. This simple recipe is easy to make the day-of and will impress everyone at your table.

Honey-Glazed Ham Ingredients

You'll need just five ingredients for this top-rated honey-glazed ham recipe:

  • Ham: This recipe calls for one 5-pound ready-to-eat ham. If your ham is larger or smaller, you'll need to adjust the recipe.
  • Cloves: Aromatic whole cloves add warm, spicy-sweet flavor.
  • Honey: Of course, you'll need honey. Pro-tip: Spray your measuring cup with cooking spray so the honey slides out easily.
  • Corn Syrup: Dark corn syrup adds more flavor and contributes to caramelization. Some reviewers suggest substituting brown sugar or using a combination of corn syrup and brown sugar.
  • Butter: Butter adds and helps retain moisture, resulting in a juicy honey-baked ham that's impossible to resist.

Brush the glaze over the ham and bake in a foil-lined pan for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, brushing every 15 minutes or so with the glaze. "This is the best recipe I've found to make my own honey-glazed ham," says Grandma of 14. "It's easy, economical and tastes even better than commercially-glazed hams."

"I am not usually a person to review recipes, but this was so good I just had to," according to Healthnut. "I made it for a family dinner and all I got were heaps of compliments. I did substitute the same amount of brown sugar for the dark corn syrup, just because I didn't have any on hand."

"The best ham recipe," raves Mandy Jo. "I made this last year and it was a huge hit. I will use this for all of the holidays. I did use brown sugar instead of corn syrup and I also used a small amount of ground cloves to save time. I can't wait to have it again!"
