The ready-to-eat chicken breast nugget and tender products may be contaminated with foreign materials, specifically metal, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The recall was initiated after consumers contacted the manufacturer with complaints of metal wire embedded in the products. The recalled products were shipped to retailers nationwide and also sold online. Which Perdue Chicken Nuggets and Tenders Were Recalled? The products were sold under both the Perdue and Butcher Box brand names. The following specific products—which were all manufactured on March 23, 2024—are included in the recall: 22-ounce (1.38-pound) vacuum-sealed plastic packages containing Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets with "Best If Used By" date of 03-23-25 represented on the back of the package29-ounce (1.81-pound) vacuum-sealed plastic packages containing Perdue Chicken Breast Tenders with "Best If Used By" date of 03-23-25 represented on the back of the package.22-ounce (1.38-pound) vacuum-sealed packages containing Butcher Box Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets with "Best If Used By" date of 03-23-25 represented on the back of the package. The Butcher Box Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets are also labeled as gluten-free. The recalled products also have the establishment number “P-33944” on the back of the package. What To Do if You Have the Recalled Perdue Chicken Products If you have purchased any of these products and they are still in your freezer, throw them away or return them to the original place of purchase. Though there have been no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products yet, you are urged not to consume them.
