Barbara Sauermann Title: Senior Content Producer, Allrecipes Education: Hunter College, New York University Location: Seattle, Washington Barbara Sauermann is a recipe developer and editor, German cuisine expert, and Senior Content Producer at Allrecipes. Experience Barbara joined Allrecipes in 2008 as a translator and food editor to help launch the brand’s first non-English language website. Barbara led Allrecipes Germany as Editorial Director for nine years before joining the Allrecipes.com team in 2017. An avid home cook and baker, Barbara has developed, cooked, and photographed thousands of recipes during her tenure at Allrecipes. She has two daughters with widely different tastes and making tasty, healthy meals her teens will actually eat is a daily challenge. She is particularly proud of the many novelty birthday cakes she created for her daughters throughout the years.Before her career at Allrecipes and immersing herself in all things food, Barbara was a freelance translator for more than 15 years where she worked on a diverse array of projects, including translating four cookbooks published by DuPont and the official menus for three World Cups. She has worked on dozens of plays in every capacity, staged elaborate events for Mercedes and Siemens as an event producer, edited a photo book about the global peace demonstrations in 2003, juggled celebrities at the Seattle International Film Festival, and produced the inaugural Howl Festival in New York City. Education Barbara graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Theater and Spanish from Hunter College and holds a translation certificate from NYU.
