The Warsaw Military District was created in 1862. When World War I broke out, most of the units of the district (three out of its five infantry corps) were used to form the 2nd Army. Since the territory of the district was overrun by German and Austro-Hungarian armies in the course of 1915, it was dissolved, and its staff used in creating the new Minsk Military District.
Composition
The Warsaw Military District was an umbrella organisation for all Russian military establishments on its territory. Its main units were five infantry corps:
6th Army Corps (Russian Empire) (headquarters in Łomża)
14th Army Corps (Russian Empire) (headquarters in Lublin)
15th Army Corps (Russian Empire) (headquarters in Warsaw)
19th Army Corps (Russian Empire) (headquarters in Brest)
At the beginning of the 19th century, the Russian Empire extended from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the Black Sea on the south, from the Baltic Sea on the west to the Pacific Ocean, and (until 1867) into Alaska in North America on the east. With 125.6 million subjects registered by the 1897 census, it had the third largest population in the world at the time, after Qing China and the British Empire. Like all empires, it included a large disparity in terms of economics, ethnicity, and religion. There were numerous dissident elements, who launched numerous rebellions and assassination attempts; they were closely watched by the secret police, with thousands exiled to Siberia.
Bakov has declared the Imperial Throne to be the successor to the historical Russian Empire that ceased to exist in 1917. The Imperial Throne also claims the right to maritime territories that were either claimed by the Russian Empire or discovered by the Imperial Russian Navy but never absorbed into the Soviet Union. The 17 claimed territories include the entire continent of Antarctica as well as land currently under the jurisdiction of Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other nations.
The Imperial Throne has no established territory or sovereign status beyond its own claims. In 2014, Bakov announced he had purchased land in Montenegro and plans to set up a government-in-exile.
In 2012 the Economist Intelligence Unit ranked Warsaw as the 32nd most liveable city in the world. It was also ranked as one of the most liveable cities in Central Europe. Today Warsaw is considered an "Alpha–" global city, a major international tourist destination and a significant cultural, political and economic hub. Warsaw's economy, by a wide variety of industries, is characterised by FMCG manufacturing, metal processing, steel and electronic manufacturing and food processing. The city is a significant centre of research and development, BPO, ITO, as well as of the Polish media industry. The Warsaw Stock Exchange is one of the largest and most important in Central and Eastern Europe.Frontex, the European Union agency for external border security, has its headquarters in Warsaw. It has been said that Warsaw, together with Frankfurt, London, Paris and Barcelona is one of the cities with the highest number of skyscrapers in Europe. Warsaw has also been called "Eastern Europe’s chic cultural capital with thriving art and club scenes and serious restaurants".
Joy Division were an English rock band formed in 1976 in Salford, Greater Manchester. Originally named Warsaw, the band consisted of singer Ian Curtis, guitarist and keyboardist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook, and drummer Stephen Morris.
Formed by Sumner and Hook after the two attended a Sex Pistols gig, Joy Division moved beyond their punk roots to develop a sound and style that made them one of the pioneers of the post-punk movement. Their self-released 1978 debut EP, An Ideal for Living, drew the attention of the Manchester television personality Tony Wilson, who signed the group to his independent label, Factory Records. Joy Division's debut album, Unknown Pleasures, recorded with producer Martin Hannett, was released in 1979 to critical acclaim. As the band's popularity grew, Curtis, who suffered from personal problems that included severe depression, a failing marriage, and epilepsy, found it increasingly difficult to perform at live concerts, during which he occasionally collapsed into seizures.

The Tsars: Expansion of the Russian Empire | Russia's Wars Ep.1 | Documentary
Russia is characterized by powerful personalities and significant conflicts. Power struggles and legendary battles have been part of Russian history, such as the wars of the tsars.
The early wars of the tsars, Peter the Great with his first great victories, Catherine the Great and her expansionist policies as well as the devastating consequences of Napoleon's campaign against Russia are the central themes of this documentary. Brutal tactics, political intrigues and tireless endeavors made Russia a great power. The revolution that ended the Tsarist Empire and paved the way for the Soviet Union is another focal point of Russian history.

For well over 300 years, Russia in one form or another, has maintained its position as the worlds largest country and during the height of it’s territorial expanse, in the year 1866, stretched all the way from Poland to Alaska. However, just a few centuries earlier, a recognisable Russian state did not even exist. Amongst the patchwork of warring principalities and dukedoms that made up the region, emerged the first glimpses of a nation that through the ambitions and endeavours of Cossacks and Tsars alike, would rise to become largest nation on earth.
This is how Russia became the worlds biggest country.
