Tens of thousands of Somalis fled their country in June, marking another rise in the flood of refugees streaming into neighbouring Ethiopia and Kenya.
Many come to Dadaab, the largest refugee camp in the world, where around 1,400 people are arriving each week. Dadaab was built to house 90,000 people; it's now home to more than 350,000. Many children suffering from malnourishment are reported to have died on the long trek to the camp or within a day of arriving.
Behind the crisis lies a devastating mix of civil war, rising food prices and one of the worst droughts to hit the Horn of Africa in modern history. The hardline Muslim Shabab militia, which is fighting the weak Transitional Federal Government in Somalia, has banned aid organ...

STORYLINE:
Some members of a new transitional parliament for Somalia were sworn in on Sunday in a key step towards establishing the first central government in the country since 1991.
But the inauguration ceremony was marred by a dispute that could scuttle a three-year peace process, mediators said.
The dispute is over who will select 45 parliamentarians from one of the four major clans supposed to be represented in the 275-member legislature under a charter approved in January, officials familiar with the talks said on condition of anonymity.
Abdullahi Yussuf, who controls the central Puntland region, wanted more say in choosing the representatives of the Darod clan, one official said.
The transitional parliament, which is based on Somalia's clan system, will have a five-year term and select a national president - the country's first since 1991.
Somalia's four major clans will each have 61 members in the assembly and one coalition of small clans will share 31.
Women should form at least 12 per cent of all transitional parliament members.
Joseph Nyagah, Kenya's assistant minister for regional cooperation, said a special committee would meet later to decide how the remaining 45 representatives would be picked and that the other 230 would take up their posts in the meantime.
There is no timetable for when the parliament would return to Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, and begin official duties.
Somalia descended into chaos after the faction leaders who ousted dictator Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991 turned on each other, transforming the country of seven (m) million people into a patchwork of fiefdoms.
It now has no effective central government, despite an attempt in 2000 by Somali elders, businessmen and religious leaders to form a transitional national government.
That government never controlled more than a small portion of Mogadishu and other parts of Somalia and its mandate expired in August 2003.
Once formed, the new parliament will chose a president who will nominate a prime minister to form a government.
Talks to bring together Somalia's warring factions and to form a national government began in October 2002 under the auspices of a seven-member regional body, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development.
