The drama was filmed over 12 weeks in and around Dumbarton, and was broadcast during BBC One's Summer 2010 season.
Synopsis
A group of oceanographers seek a new source of bio-fuel in the Lomonosov Ridge. A disaster strikes their submarine, stranding them thousands of feet underwater. The group must now deal with clashing personalities and finding a way to the surface.
Production
Commissioning of The Deep was announced by the BBC in July 2009. The BBC announced the involvement of stars Minnie Driver, James Nesbitt and Goran Visnjic, and the start of production at the BBC's Dumbarton studios, in December 2009. The shoot ran for 12 weeks, concluding in March 2010. Submarine sets both physical and computer generated were designed by Production Designer Simon Bowles. Location filming also occurred in Ardrossan and the harbour at Irvine. Prosthetic make-up artist Linda A. Morton researched the sorts of injuries sustained by the characters by visiting a hospital burns unit, and referring to photographs of radiation burns.
While scuba-diving near shipwrecks off Bermuda, vacationing couple David Sanders (Nick Nolte) and Gail Berke (Jacqueline Bisset) recover a number of artifacts, including an ampoule of amber-colored liquid and a medallion bearing the image of a woman and the letters "S.C.O.P.N." (meaning "Santa Clara, ora pro nobis" or "Saint Clara, pray for us") and a date, 1714. Sanders and Berke seek the advice of lighthouse-keeper and treasure-hunter Romer Treece (Robert Shaw) on the origin of the medallion, who identifies the item as Spanish and takes an interest in the young couple. The ampoule is noticed by the man who had rented diving equipment to Sanders and Berke, which in turn attracts the attention of Henri 'Cloche' Bondurant (Louis Gossett, Jr.), a local drug kingpin for whom the shop owner works, who unsuccessfully tries to buy the ampoule and then begins to terrorize the couple with Haitian black magic. The ampoule contains medicinal morphine from the Goliath, a ship that sank during World War II with a cargo of munitions and medical supplies. The wreck of the Goliath is considered dangerous and is posted as off-limits to divers due to the danger of explosions. Treece concludes that a recent storm has exposed her cargo of morphine and unearthed a much older wreck containing Spanish treasure.
The fourth season of CSI: NY originally aired on CBS between September 2007 and May 2008. It consisted of 21 episodes, only 14 of which were completed before the Writers' Strike. CSI: NY The Fourth Season was released on DVD in the U.S. on September 23, 2008.

Played By: David Walliams Appearances: Season 3
Alan works for the Donkey Hospice in the town of Achingballs. After contributors give him some money, he blatantly places stickers on embarrassing body parts, such as the genital region or breasts and on someone's rear in a deleted scene. He makes one appearance in Series 3.
Peter Andre
Played by: David Walliams Episodes: Radio Show; Season 1, episodes 4 and 5 Catchphrase: I love you Anne and I need you Anne
Peter Andre is a royal BBC correspondent who gets sacked after first making bizarre and inaccurate claims about the Royal Family (such as Prince Charles having magical powers, describing The Queen as "The Main One" and mistaking Princess Eugenie for her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York) and then declaring his love for Princess Anne through song. He later attempts to enter a royal garden party to give her some drawings, despite being disheveled and without trousers, and is turned away by police. The character's name is a reference to the singer. There are also two deleted scenes in which Peter Andre appears backstage at the Royal Variety Performance and at a drug rehab centre.
Florence is a train station in Florence, South Carolina, United States served by Amtrak, the national railroad passenger system. Florence is served by Amtrak's Palmetto and Silver Meteor routes and is a service and smoking stop for the Auto Train. The station was built by CSX in 1996 as a replacement for the much larger former station, which is now owned by the McLeod Regional Medical Center.

The Deep (1977) - 'Main Title' scene [1080p]
Few people could write a beautiful theme like John Barry could. Here, his gorgeous main title music is a perfect match for the postcard scenery from above and below the surface in Bermuda. This film was released two years after Jaws, and was based on the second novel by the same author.
Starring Jacqueline Bisset, Nick Nolte, Robert Shaw and Eli Wallach. Written and adapted by Peter Benchley. Directed by Peter Yates. Original score by John Barry.

THE DEEP HDTrailer(Fan re-edit)
Unable to find a trailer in the NET with good picture quality, I undertook the task of using the soundtrack from the official Columbia Pictures trailer and replacing the video footage with equivalent scenes in 1080p HD. It was a bit tough to synchronize the lip sync scenes, but I am happy with the results. I would like to share this trailer of a very exciting thriller released in 1977, adapted from Peter Benchley's best selling novel, now celebrating 40 years. The Blu-ray release is a superb transfer by SONY Home Entertainment. Enjoy!
