Strategic Health Asset Planning and Evaluation (SHAPE) is a web enabled, evidence based application which informs and supports the strategic planning of services and physical assets across a whole health economy.
The application contains a number of key indicators covering a range of topics including public health, primary care and demography. Each indicator can be mapped and is linked with information on the location of healthcare assets such as GPs, hospitals, dentists and pharmacies. As well as providing analyses vital for overall strategic planning across whole health economies, SHAPE can be used for numerous more specific planning purposes.
These include:
Mapping local populations by age, ethnicity, socio-economic status, primary care and public health factors
Comparing your local population with other areas
Siting new facilities and its impact on populations (with a focus on inequalities)
PCN and GP practice primary care data such as QOF, registered populations, prescription activity and workforce
Developing a repository of organisation and site estate information
Covid vaccination mapping and access analysis
Comprehensive travel time analysis for every NHS site

Strategic human resource management helps the HR department maximize the potential of an organization’s workforce through strategic planning, talent management, leadership development, organizational design, and performance management. The main difference between HR management and strategic HR management is that HR management focuses on managing the regular day-to-day HR duties, while strategic HR management focuses on helping employees and the HR department achieve company goals through strategic working.
What are the goals of strategic human resource management? SHRM works to develop an employee-centric culture where employee growth, development, health, well-being, and performance are focused more than getting tasks done. SHRM clarifies and enhances the organization’s purpose to people so they truly understand the gist of their responsibilities and how they contribute to helping the organization achieve its purpose. In addition to that, strategic human resource management focuses on employee advancement to enhance their occupational status. Employee retention is another objective that the SHRM team strives to achieve.
