St. Patrick's High School was a high school in Monrovia, Liberia from 1936 to 1996. It was one of the top secondary schools in the country.
History
In 1934, after being appointed Vicar Apostolic of Liberia, Father John Collins founded the St. Patrick School in Monrovia for the benefit of local children under the auspices of the Society of African Missions. He was rejoined by Father Francis Carroll in 1936, and under their direction, the school extended to the secondary level in 1939.
In 1943, St. Patrick High School's first five graduates finished their scholarship, a first for a Catholic school in Liberia.
After Father John Collins died in 1961, Father Francis Carroll was consecrated Bishop of Monrovia, and one year later made the arrangements for the Brothers of Holy Cross to take over the management of St. Patrick’s High School.
Maintaining a high profile for its excellent education, St. Patrick's High School was closed for a time during the 1989 civil war. Two nuns, Sister Agnes and Sister Shirley, reopened the school. Both were killed in 1992 by National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL) rebel leader Charles Taylor's forces during the continued strife.
St. Patrick's High School (St. Pat's) was a non-denominational school centrally located on Quinpool Road in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Historically a Roman Catholic public school, St. Pat's opened in 1954 less than one block from its rival non-denominational public school, Queen Elizabeth High (QEH). St. Patrick's closed in 2007, merging with QEH to form Citadel High School.

Origins
The Roman Catholics of St. Patrick's Parish petitioned the government in 1846 for aid in educating their children, since most parents could not afford to pay school fees. However, free education did not come to Nova Scotia until the 1865 passage of the Nova Scotia Education Act. Classes for Catholics were subsequently established in the basement of St. Patrick's Church.
Conditions in the basement were poor and a dedicated Saint Patrick's School opened on Lockman Street (now part of Barrington Street) in 1872. It contained ten classrooms supporting about 786 pupils. The high school was opened in the same overcrowded building in 1884, in response to an amendment of the Education Act that provided for high school education. The high school was moved to the Worrall Building, at the corner of Barrington Street and Proctor's Lane, in 1886.
St Patrick's High School, is a Roman Catholic school located in Saddar Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The institution is the second school to be built in the city. For the last 150 years, the school has produced well known leaders and personalities; including two President and two Prime Ministers of Pakistan, two Chief Ministers of Sindh, two Cardinals of the Catholic Church, union minister of India and mayors of Karachi. The school is owned by The Roman Catholic Church and managed by the Catholic Board Of Education in Pakistan. The current Principal is Br. Lawrence.
History
St. Patrick’s was established on May 6, 1861, and officially registered as a high school in 1867. Its founder was Rev. J.A. Willy of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), who controlled the school till June 1935. It was then taken over by the Franciscan order till 6 October 1950. Since 1950 it has had Pakistani principals belonging to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi.
Stephen Raymond became the first Pakistani principal of his alma mater in 1950. The era of Fr. Raymond as principal from 1950 to 1974 is referred by old students as the 'golden era' of St. Patrick's. Fr. Raymond is credited with constructing the Cambridge Building (1950), St. Patrick's College (1952), the Teachers' Training College (1959), the first School Auditorium (1972). The school celebrated its Centenary in 1962 with the President of Pakistan, Field Marshal Mohammad Ayub Khan as the Chief Guest.
