A finance minister is an executive or cabinet position in charge of one or more of government finances, economic policy and financial regulation. It may also be a junior minister in the finance department, the British Treasury, for example has four junior ministers.
A finance minister's portfolio has a large variety of names across the world, such as "treasury", "finance", "financial affairs", "economy" or "economic affairs". The position of the finance minister might be named for this portfolio, but it may also have some other name, like "Treasurer" or, in the United Kingdom, "Chancellor of the Exchequer".
The duties of a finance minister differ between countries. Typically, they encompass one or more of government finance, fiscal policy, and financial regulation, but there are significant differences between countries:
in some countries the finance minister might also have oversight of monetary policy (while in other countries that is the responsibility of an independent central bank);
This is a list of the top officials in charge of the finances of the Ottoman Empire, called Defterdar (Turkish for bookkeepers; from the Persian دفتردار daftardâr, دفتر daftar + دار dâr) between the 14th and 19th centuries and Maliye Naziri (Minister of Finance) between 19th and 20th centuries. They were originally in charge of the defters (tax registers) in the Ottoman Empire, hence the name "defterdar."
History of the office
The exact date of the formal establishment of the office is unknown. According to some sources, the first defterdar was the Kadı (judge) of Mihaliç, Çelebi bin Mehmed, appointed in 1359 or 1360, during the reign of Murad I. During the reign of Bayezid I (1389–1402), the poet Zahiri is mentioned as the defterdar.
In the classical period, the finances of the Empire were organized under a single Defterdar, literally the main bookkeeper, in charge of a single imperial treasury (Hazine-i Amire). Starting in 1793, smaller treasuries independent of the imperial treasury were organized, each with a separate defterdar in charge. In 1837, a modern ministry was founded under the name of Maliye Nezareti, merging most of the independent treasuries back to the Imperial Treasury. In 1840, the merging of the remaining independent treasuries was completed.
The Finance Minister of Denmark (DanishFinansministeren) is the head of the Ministry of Finance of Denmark, and a member of the Cabinet. As head of the ministry, the minister has responsibility for the ministry's tasks of administrering the state finances via the fiscal policy, and making economic predictions and recommendations.
Iran (/aɪˈræn/ or i/ɪˈrɑːn/;Persian:Irān – ایران[ʔiːˈɾɒːn]), also known as Persia (/ˈpɜːrʒə/ or /ˈpɜːrʃə/), officially the Islamic Republic of Iran (جمهوری اسلامی ایران – Jomhuri ye Eslāmi ye Irān[d͡ʒomhuːˌɾije eslɒːˌmije ʔiːˈɾɒːn]), is a country in Western Asia. It is bordered to the northwest by Armenia, the de factoNagorno-Karabakh, and Azerbaijan; with Kazakhstan and Russia across the Caspian Sea; to the northeast by Turkmenistan; to the east by Afghanistan and Pakistan; to the south by the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman; and to the west by Turkey and Iraq. Comprising a land area of 1,648,195km2 (636,372sqmi), it is the second-largest country in the Middle East and the 18th-largest in the world. With 78.4 million inhabitants, Iran is the world's 17th-most-populous country. It is the only country that has both a Caspian Sea and an Indian Ocean coastline. Iran has long been of geostrategic importance because of its central location in Eurasia and Western Asia, and its proximity to the Strait of Hormuz.
Şiran, also Karaca, is a town and district of Gümüşhane Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey. It is one of the points of passage between Eastern Anatolia and Black Sea regions of Turkey, in the sense that the western road departing from Erzincan towards the Zigana Pass (the key pass between the two geographies) has its last urban stop in Şiran. According to the 2010 census, population of the district is 17,600 of which 8,207 live in the town of Şiran. The district covers an area of 928km2 (358sqmi), and the town lies at an elevation of 1,457m (4,780ft).
Name
The name comes from Persian and means "the lions", although it is most likely to be an adaptation of the former Greek name of Cheriana (Χερίανα) adopted after the Turkish settlement in the region after and possibly even slightly before the Battle of Manzikert.
History
Many of the northern villages of the district was home to minority populations of Pontic Greeks until the 1922 Exchange of Greek and Turkish Populations, constituting the southern fringes of that community's extension. Some among the present population can also trace their roots to Greeks who had converted to Islam until as late as the end of the 19th century, as indicated by the Ottoman census and changed village names (for example, the present village of "Evren" was formerly called "Sefker").
Recent archaeological research has pushed back the date of the known origin of wine making in Persia far beyond that which writers earlier in the 20th century had envisaged. Excavations at the Godin Tepe site in the Zagros mountains (Badler, 1995; McGovern and Michel, 1995; McGovern, 2003), have revealed pottery vessels dating from c. 3100–2900 BC containing tartaric acid, almost certainly indicating the former presence of wine. Even earlier evidence was found at the site of Hajji Firuz Tepe, also in the Zagros mountains. Here, McGovern et al. (1996) used chemical analyses of the residue of a Neolithic jar dating from as early as 5400–5000 BC to indicate high levels of tartaric acid, again suggesting that the fluid contained therein had been made from grapes.
As book of Immortal Land Persian:سرزمین جاوید or Sar Zamin e Javid] (by Zabihollah Mansoori) says Ramian wines were world-famous in the Parthian Empire. Ramian Wine is now a California wine brand but Shiraz wines are famous across the globe.

New Canadian finance minister insists Feds "very proud" of Fall Economic Statement | FULL
Newly appointed Canadian Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc defended the federal government’s Fall Economic Statement in the House of Commons Tuesday, saying the Trudeau government is “very proud” of its fiscal update.
LeBlanc said the economic statement would support “Canadians with serious affordability challenges.”
Conservative MP Andrew Scheer called the political turmoil resulting from former finance minister Chrystia Freeland’s bombshell resignation a “gongshow” and called the $62 billion deficit announced in the economic outlook a “gut punch to Canadians.”
“They’re so proud of that fall budget that they tabled it in the House of Commons and ran,” Scheer said.

Conservatives and the Bloc Quebecois both called for an election, with Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet saying that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “does not have the confidence of the House.”
Jagmeet Singh renewed his call for Trudeau to resign but did not say whether his party would back a Conservative non-confidence motion.

Dominic LeBlanc is sworn in as Canada's new finance minister after Chrystia Freeland steps down Melissa Nakhavoly with whether this cabinet shake-up can restore confidence in the liberal government.
The Leader of the Official Opposition Pierre Poilievre called it “chaos” in question period on Monday after Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland resigned just hours before she was expected to deliver the Fall Economic Statement - itself coming weeks late.
After Freeland was no longer going to present the fall statement, the job “automatically to the industry minister, who immediately resigned — like on the spot — which then went down the line. And the next person in order was the famous two Randy's. And they're not available to do the job either,” Poilievre said.
The Conservative Leader then challenged Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to “have the courage” to show his face and put in a “confidence vote tonight.”
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh stated that “the prime minister cannot remain in that position. Will he resign?”

Typically, they encompass one or more of government finance, fiscal policy, and financial regulation, but there are significant differences between countries:
in some countries the finance minister might also have oversight of monetary policy (while in other countries that is the responsibility of an independent central bank);
