Robert Arthur "Bob" Mould (born October 16, 1960) is an American musician, principally known for his work as guitarist, vocalist and songwriter for alternative rock bands Hüsker Dü in the 1980s and Sugar in the 1990s.
Forming in 1979, Hüsker Dü first gained notice as a punk rock group with a series of recordings on the independent label SST Records. In 1986, they signed with a major record label (Warner Bros. Records), but found only modest commercial success. However, they were later often cited as one of the key influences on 1990s alternative rock, including bands such as Nirvana and the Pixies.
In the late 1980s, Hüsker Dü broke up acrimoniously amid members' drug abuse, personal problems, disputes over songwriting credits, musical direction, and the suicide of the band's manager, David Savoy. Mould and Grant Hart, the band's other songwriter and vocalist, still take occasional jabs at each other in the press, though the two briefly revisited their Hüsker Dü back catalog together at a 2004 benefit concert for an ailing friend, the late Karl Mueller of Soul Asylum.
Bob Mould (sometimes referred to as Hubcap) is the third solo album by former Hüsker Dü and Sugar guitarist and singer Bob Mould. It was recorded and mixed between September & November 1995 and released in April 1996. Mould played all of the instruments on the album himself, and the sleeve notes declare, "This one is for me." In the place of traditional band credits, the sleeve states, "Bob Mould is Bob Mould."
The song "Dog on Fire," which was chosen to be the theme song of The Daily Show, was originally written for this album.

New Day Rising is the third studio album by the American punk rock band Hüsker Dü, released in 1985 on SST Records. The album featured continued a trend away from the fast hardcore punk of the band's earliest releases toward slower, more melodic material.
Production and release
The band released the album Zen Arcade through SST Records in July 1984, and the label's co-owner Joe Carducci immediately requested another album. The band wanted to self-produce, but SST insisted on Spot, who produced many of the label's albums, including all of Hüsker Dü's. The recording atmosphere was thus tense. New Day Rising appeared in January 1985 and featured slower, more melodic material, continuing the trend away from the fast hardcore punk of the band's earliest releases. This coupled with the higher-quality musicianship and production led fans to perceive the band as more commercial, and the band defended themselves against accusations of selling out.

New Day Rising
A new day is rising
Another lovely day
No more criticizing
I’m here to stay
Let the sun shine on your way...
Always been a stranger
Even in my own land
You know what it feels like, when you talk
And nobody understands
Let the sun shine on your way...
New day is rising

The record "12 meres sti Jamaica" (12 days in Jamaica), which is the second Album of the band, was recorded in the birthplace of Reggae - in Jamaica - in 2005 after an invitation of one of the islands legendary musicians, the trombone player and Bob Marley companion, Vin Gordon, who participated in many songs of the record.
The album contained tracks which would establish the band in Greece like "Den kanei kryo stin Ellada" (It's not cold in Greece"), but would also make them widely known in the rest of the world, like the Reggae cover of the song "Frangosyriani" from Markos Vamvakaris which was used in Fatih Akin's award winning film "Soul Kitchen".
The Title derives from the 12 days the greek band managed to book in GeeJam Studios owned by Island Records Jamaica Chef, John Baker.

A pretty penny buys you lots of things A wooden nickel's worth of diamond rings Good ideas, dozen for a dime And quarter notes are all lined up in time We're sitting somewhere frightened Right between that and excited Angels are rearranging I never thought that we would fall apart But the weather came and withered up your heart We're sitting somewhere frightened Right between that and excited Angels are rearranging I never ever thought that we would fall apart And though we tried All the good times passed us by And left us standing in the middle Of a place we've never been And if we die Angels falling from the sky, singing Don't be scared of change
