Lynne grew up in the Shard End area of Birmingham, Warwickshire, where he attended Alderlea Boys' Secondary School. His first guitar, an acoustic instrument, was bought for him by his father, for £2. He was still playing it in 2012. In 1963 he formed a group with Robert Reader and David Walsh using little more than Spanish guitars and cheap electrical instruments to produce music. They were originally named "the Rockin' Hellcats" before changing to "the Handicaps" and finally to "the Andicaps". They practiced at Shard End Community Centre and performed weekly. However, in 1964, Robert Reader and David Walsh left the band and Lynne brought in replacements. At the end of 1964, Lynne decided to leave the band to replace Mick Adkins of the local band "the Chads".
On Broadway (sometimes referred to as David Campbell On Broadway) is the fourth studio album from Australian singer/actor David Campbell, released in Australia on 2 April 2010.On Broadway marks a departure by Campbell from his previous albums of swing and rock music, back to the genre of musical theatre through which he first rose to fame. The album reached number seven on the Australian national ARIA chart.
The album was produced by leading musical director Rob Fisher and veteran arranger Bill Elliott, and recorded with a 40-piece orchestra at East West Studios, Los Angeles in January 2010.
An accompanying television documentary David Campbell On Broadway was filmed by Campbell's production company Luckiest Productions at the same time, and aired in Australia on arts channel STVDIO on Saturday 3 April.
Emotionally devastated by the death of his uncle, Boston carpenter Jack O'Toole (McIntyre) writes a play inspired by the man's wake. When nobody will produce the play, Jack quits his job to produce it himself, imagining that this play will give a new start to the strained relationship Jack has with his father. But the only stage Jack can afford is in the back room of a neighborhood pub. In this humble environment, Jack pulls together a theater company of sorts and brings his story to the stage, and in the process he brings together his family and friends and helps them move beyond their loss.
Credits
The film was written and directed by playwright/screenwriter Dave McLaughlin and shot by cinematographer Terrence Fitzgerald Hayes. The film was produced by Charlie Harrington
Additional cast members included Vincent Dowling, Sean Lawlor, Lucas Caleb Rooney, Lance Greene, Andrew Connolly, Peter Giles, Dossy Peabody, Will Harris and Nancy E. Carroll.
Xanadu is notable for several reasons, including its sales record for computer games in Japan with over 400,000 copies sold there in 1985. It was also one of the foundations of the RPG genre, particularly the action RPG subgenre, featuring real-timeaction combat combined with full-fledged character statistics, innovative gameplay systems such as the Karma meter and individual experience for equipped items, and platform game elements combined with the dungeon crawl gameplay of its predecessor. It also had towns to explore and introduced equipment that change the player character's visible appearance, food that is consumed slowly over time and essential for keeping the player character alive, and magic used to attack enemies from a distance. The following year saw the release of Xanadu Scenario II, an early example of an expansion pack.
In Peart's lyrics, the narrator describes searching for something called "Xanadu" that will grant him immortality. After succeeding in this quest, a thousand years pass, and the narrator is left "waiting for the world to end," describing himself as "a mad immortal man."
Although the song does not explicitly state what "Xanadu" is, references to Kubla Khan imply that it is a mythical place based on the historical summer capital of the Mongol Empire.
Music
"Xanadu" is the first Rush song in which synthesizers are an integral part. Unlike the previous albums 2112 and Caress of Steel, "Xanadu" used both guitar and synthesizer effects.
The song also marks Rush's clear foray into program music, although previous albums had displayed some elements of this. Subsequent albums during the late 1970s and early 1980s would see the group explore program music more systematically.

It gives me great pleasure to create a clip and post the wondrously talented George Benson's version of the Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil and Leiber & Stoller classic 'On Broadway'. Recorded for his live 1978 LP 'Weekend In LA', the track was to become a Top 10 hit in America, and a Top 25 in Oz. It was my entree to the beautiful spirit and immense talent of Mr Benson.
There is nothing the man cannot sing and sing exquisitely. His jazz/pop/r&b/soul melanges over the years, have contributed to his reputation as being a true superstar and legend. I was only 13 when i first heard this singer, but 'On Broadway' has remained a life long treasure, along with many of his later recordings, which showcase his guitar work, his distinctive sound and style and joyous approach to organic music. Long live Ge...

George Benson - On Broadway (12'' version) ℗ 1978
Original vinyl ripped, remaster 2018 by Antony Sound Studio.
George Benson (born March 22, 1943) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He began his professional career at the age of 21 as a jazz guitarist. Benson uses a rest-stroke picking technique similar to that of gypsy jazz players such as Django Reinhardt.
A former child prodigy, Benson first came to prominence in the 1960s, playing soul jazz with Jack McDuff and others. He then launched a successful solo career, alternating between jazz, pop, R&B singing, and scat singing. His album Breezin' was certified triple-platinum, hitting no. 1 on the Billboard album chart in 1976.His concerts were well attended through the 1980s, and he still has a large following.[4] Benson has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of ...

Long live George Benson!

1 on the Billboard album chart in 1976.His concerts were well attended through the 1980s, and he still has a large following.[4] Benson has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Beatles, Joe Cocker, Tom Petty, Take That, Roy Orbison, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Bryan Adams & many more.
All songs were either written, produced, co-written or co-produced by Jeff Lynne. In addition to writing and producing Jeff also performs on many of the tracks listed here. Adding backing vocals and various instruments to many of the songs. If you look close enough you might even catch a glimpse of Jeff in some of the clips.
Jeff Lynne is an English musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer who co-founded the rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). Jeff also co-founded the supergroup Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty
If you'd like to learn more about Jeff's song-writing and production career I'd recommend Robert Porter's website 'The Jeff Lynne Song Database'.
