Idaho State Highway 200 (SH-200) is a two-lane highway from Ponderay, Idaho eastward to the Montana border. The highway has been dedicated as a national scenic byway and given the name Pend Oreille Scenic Byway.
ID-200 is the westernmost portion of a chain of Highway 200s which extends east through Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota. At only 33 miles (53km) in length, Idaho's Highway 200 is the shortest in the chain while Montana's Highway 200 is the longest. There is another highway called SR 20 in Washington that would complete the chain of Hwy 200s, but ID-200 is not directly connected to WA-20.
OR 200 was established in 2002 as part of Oregon's project to assign route numbers to highways that previously were not assigned, and, as of June 2009, was unsigned.
Route description
OR 200 begins at an intersection with OR 99W in Monroe. It heads south through Bear Creek to an intersection with OR 36, at which point the Territorial Highway overlaps the Mapleton-Junction City Highway No. 229. The concurrency continues west for 1.48 miles (2.38km) as OR 36, at which point OR 200 heads south through Elmira to Veneta. At Veneta, OR 200 crosses OR 126 and continues south through Crow and Lorane to the Lane-Douglas County line, where it ends. An old section of the Territorial Highway continues south as a Douglas County road to Anlauf, where it ends at an intersection with OR 99.
Idaho is a mountainous state with an area larger than that of all of New England. It borders the US states of Montana to the northeast, Wyoming to the east, Nevada and Utah to the south, and Washington and Oregon to the west. To the north, it shares a 45mi (72km) international border with the Canadian province of British Columbia, the shortest such land border of any state. The network of dams and locks on the Columbia River and Snake River make the city of Lewiston the farthest inland seaport on the Pacific coast of the contiguous United States.
Idaho's nickname is the "Gem State", because nearly every known type of gemstone has been found there. In addition, Idaho is one of only two places in the world where star garnets can be found in any significant quantities, the other being India. Idaho is sometimes called the "Potato State" owing to its popular and widely distributed crop. The state motto is Esto Perpetua (Latin for "Let it be forever" or "Let it endure forever").
Idaho State University (ISU) is a Carnegie-classified doctoral research and teaching institution in the western United States, located in Pocatello, Idaho.
A public university founded 115years ago in 1901 as the Academy of Idaho, ISU offers access to education in more than 280 programs at its main campus and at locations in Meridian, Idaho Falls, and Twin Falls. It is the state's designated lead institution in health professions and medical education.
There are 48 US states and 59 countries represented at ISU and 285 programs, including Master's and Doctorate programs. The student-teacher ratio is 17:1, gender of students is 44 percent male, 56 percent female, and ISU has more than 160 clubs and organizations. Enrollment for the fall semester in 2012 stood at 14,209, including 12,143 undergraduate students and 2,066 graduate students.
History
On March 11, 1901, GovernorFrank W. Hunt signed Senate Bill 53, to establish the Academy of Idaho, contingent upon private land donations being made for its site. Theodore F. Turner, mayor of Pocatello, settled the issue (Battle of the Blocks) of the placement of the academy. The Academy of Idaho was officially opened in Pocatello on May 1, 19012. Theodore Swanson, a member of the board of trustees, secured the services of John W. Faris as the first administrator, with the title of principal. Classes officially began in September 1902. By 1910, enrollment had reached nearly 300 students, and the academy had purchased four additional city blocks in Pocatello to help meet its growing needs.
Below is a list and summary of some of the deleted state highways (i.e., those with no current routing) as outlined by the Texas Department of Transportation designation files, indicated by having zero current mileage.
SH 1
State Highway 1 ran from El Paso through Dallas to Texarkana. It was the first highway designated in 1917. In 1926, the United States Highway System was designated, with US 80 colocated from El Paso to Dallas and US 67 from Dallas to Texarkana. In 1939, the dual designations were removed, leaving TX 1 only on a small stretch west of Dallas. This section was redesignated as State Loop 260 in 1952. Since that time, the number "may only be assigned by the Executive Director of the Texas Department of Transportation or the Transportation Commission."
SH 2
State Highway 2 was originally designated in 1917, running from Wichita Falls southeast to Fort Worth. The route then split in two at Waco, with one branch travelling southwest through Austin and San Antonio before ending at Laredo, while the eastern branch travelled southeast through Houston, ending at Galveston. The western route was assigned the US 81 routing in 1926, the northern portion of the eastern routing was transferred to TX 6, and the southern portion was transferred to US 75. The co-designation with US 81 was dropped completely in 1939.

I thought I would take a break from the busy freeways of the Wasatch Front of Utah and go for a little drive in the mountains of Southwestern Idaho with my dad and my brothers for a camping trip. Unfortunately the rain ruined it for us but still we had fun on the drive and I am glad I got some good footage :)

The Super 200 EB
The Super 200 is what I like to call the combination of ID 200, MT 200, ND 200, and MN 200. All four of those State Routes combine for a total of 1356 Miles and connect US 2 in Idaho to US 2 in Minnesota. The route also goes through pretty scenery in Western Montana. Today, we're looking at the Eastbound Route and see if the control cities are as good as Idaho's, Montana's, North Dakota's, and Minnesota's Interstates.
Enjoy The Super 200 EB!

These days they try to pull travelers across a century-old, one-lane bridge from Highway 200, which sits across the river from town ...It's a 20-minute drive to the small Trout Creek Local Store down Highway 200 toward Thompson Falls.

Local highway districts applied for their share of $200 million in state surplus funds to clear out bridge projects needed in their jurisdiction ... The $200 million in state funds should repair up to 1/3 of all local bridges in need, according to LHTAC.
