Just Surrender is a rock band from Dover Plains, New York, formerly known as A Second Chance. Just Surrender was formed by three high school friends from Dover High School in Dover Plains, NY, Jason Maffucci, Andrew Meunier, and Steve Miller. Vocalist/guitarist Dan Simons, formerly of "The Record Collection," joined the original three members; the group was a four-piece until 2008. The band is known for the up-beat mood in their music, and for not having a lead vocalist, but rather having two vocalists who "share the spotlight." The group has since released three studio albums and one EP.
History
Origin and If These Streets Could Talk (2003-2005)
Just Surrender was formed in 2003 while the members were still attending high school. Just Surrender's first compilation was a 4 song EP. Many of the songs written for the EP were re-recorded for their first full album, If These Streets Could Talk, which was released by EastWest Records subsidiary Broken English in 2005. Recording took place at New York's Nada Recording Studios with producer John Naclerio. The band and their debut album appeared on MTV's You Heard It Here First. In reviewing the album, music critic Kate Lohnes wrote, "Overall, Just Surrender has panache. There's talent backing this heartfelt, although slightly unoriginal, release." Critic Christopher Felton described the album as "unfortunately nothing more than a half-decent attempt at copying the work of far more superior bands".
Two police officers, Andreas and Simon, live very different lives. Where Andreas enjoys life with his beautiful wife and newborn child, Simon calms his pain from a broken marriage by going to strip clubs and getting drunk. A routine task takes an unexpected turn when they are called out to the home of a junkie-couple where Andreas finds a neglected baby. A family tragedy, the loss of their child, forces the otherwise upstanding Andreas to commit an act that sends him heading for the abyss, and leaves it up to Simon to rectify the situation.
The film, upon its release in the Philippines, is a box office success earned PHP 43 million in its opening day. A Second Chance also receive generally favorable reviews from film critics and audiences. On its 4th week, the film earned more than ₱556 million worldwide to become the highest grossing Filipino film of all time.

Idaho is a mountainous state with an area larger than that of all of New England. It borders the US states of Montana to the northeast, Wyoming to the east, Nevada and Utah to the south, and Washington and Oregon to the west. To the north, it shares a 45mi (72km) international border with the Canadian province of British Columbia, the shortest such land border of any state. The network of dams and locks on the Columbia River and Snake River make the city of Lewiston the farthest inland seaport on the Pacific coast of the contiguous United States.
Idaho's nickname is the "Gem State", because nearly every known type of gemstone has been found there. In addition, Idaho is one of only two places in the world where star garnets can be found in any significant quantities, the other being India. Idaho is sometimes called the "Potato State" owing to its popular and widely distributed crop. The state motto is Esto Perpetua (Latin for "Let it be forever" or "Let it endure forever").
Fires is the second album by London-born singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot. First released in April 2005 on her own independent record label, Idaho Records, Fires was met with much critical acclaim but did not gain commercial recognition.
After working as a support act for artists such as Sheryl Crow and Suzanne Vega, Pallot was signed up to 14th Floor Records, who were impressed with the audience response and after-show sales of her album. Thus, Fires was reissued in late April 2006 with revamped artwork and some slight remixes on some of Pallot's songs. The album entered at UK #41 and later, on the strength of the popular single "Everybody's Gone to War", made it as far as #21.
To date, the album has been certified gold in the UK for sales of over 100,000, and has earned Pallot a nomination at the 2007 BRIT Awards for Best British Female. As of 4 October 2009, the album has sold 138,563 copies in the UK.

Teen Who Pushed Friend off Bridge Apologizes
Nineteen-year-old Taylor Smith was in tears as she was sentenced to two days in jail for pushing her friend off a 60-foot bridge in Washington state. The ruling surprised both sides. Smith had pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment earlier this month and in exchange prosecutors had recommended no jail time. But Clark County District Court Judge Darvin Zimmerman disagreed. The moment Taylor shoved her friend 17-year-old Jordan Holgerson off the bridge was captured on camera. #InsideEdition

Lyrics:
Take my heart, leave me alone
Memories are all I own
When I saw the tail lights as you drove
out of this town
Oh, you let me down
We began with spark and flame
And I don’t know when feelings changed
Now we sit in silence but the message is so loud
Oh, you let me down
Oh no
Memories of what we had
Don’t go
Seem to me more good than bad
Now I’m, so low
Baby I would try again
But I know you won’t
Brand new home and plans were made
There’s comfort when life stays the same
Then I heard your leaving and I thought that i would drown
Oh, you let me down
Oh no
Memories of what we had
Don’t go
Seem to me more good than bad
Now I’m, so low
Baby I would try again
But I know you won’t
Even though it’s painful I would take another round
And it isn’t shameful, we just lost the common ground
Oh oh, you let me down, down, down
You let me down

There's nothing that I could say That could take these words away Sometimes apologies fall short Weak moments plus ignorance Equates to how I'm feeling since I drove this knife into your back, Yeah! If I could Then I would I'd take this all away from you [x2] There's nothing that I could do That could make this up to you Futility my middle name I'll get down on both knees Pray that this hurts you less than me Another lesson learned too late, Yeah! If I could Then I would I'd take this all away from you [x2] Look into these eyes Do my tears apologize A second chance too much to ask Look into these eyes Do my tears apologize A second chance too much to A second chance too much to If I could Then I would I'd take this all away from you [x2] If I could (Then I would) If I could (Then I would) I'd take this all away from you
