Glenn Lewis Frey (/fraɪ/; November 6, 1948 – January 18, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, producer and actor, best known as a founding member of rock band the Eagles. During the 1970s, Frey played guitar with the band, as well as piano and keyboards. Alongside Don Henley, Frey was one of the primary singers of the Eagles; he sang lead vocals on songs such as "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Tequila Sunrise", "Already Gone", "Lyin' Eyes", "New Kid in Town" and "Heartache Tonight".
As a member of the Eagles, Frey won six Grammy Awards, and five American Music Awards. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, the first year they were nominated. Consolidating his solo recordings and those with the Eagles, Frey released 24 Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
The single was a cover version of a 1979 song by Noosha Fox, which failed to chart when Fox released it as a single. (It had also been rewritten by Manfred Mann's Earth Band as "On the Run" for their 1980 album Chance). In contrast, Agnetha's version proved so successful throughout Europe, it sold more copies than any of ABBA's 1982 single releases. In the UK, "The Heat Is On" peaked at No.35, making it Faltskog's highest charting solo single in Britain until the release of her 2004 comeback single, "If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind", which reached No.11.
The B-side of "The Heat Is On" was the song "Man", written by Agnetha herself. Compared to her pre-ABBA-albums where most of the songs were self-penned, this was the only song on the Wrap Your Arms Around Me album that she wrote herself.
In some countries, the record companies also released a 12"-single featuring an extended version of "The Heat Is On" instead of the album version.
The mid-to-up-tempo recording featured a steady drumbeat, synthesizer, and guitar, with a repeated saxophone riff framing the lyrical message. The guitar solo is played by Frey himself.
The music video for the song received heavy MTV airplay. It showed a film editor assembling scenes for Beverly Hills Cop while Frey and a band played the song in the adjacent room, with action scenes from the movie then directly interspersed. Among the musicians shown in the video is saxophone player Beverly Dahlke-Smith (the actual recording being made by session horn player David Woodford) and Frey's long-time drummer, Michael Huey.

THE ONE YOU LOVE
Glenn Frey
..I know you need a friend.
Someone you can talk to
Who will understand.
What you're going thru.
When it comes to love.
There's no easy answer.
Only you can say.
What you're gonna do.
I heard you on the phone.
You took his number.
Said you were alone.
That you'll call him soon.
Isn't he the guy.
The guy who'd left you cry.
Isn't he the one.
Who'd made you blue...ooh...
When you remember those
nights In his arms.
You know you got
to make up your mind.
Are you're gonna stay.
With the one who loves you.
Or are you goin back.
To the one you love.
Someone's gonna cry.
When they learn
they've Lost you.
Someone's gonna thanks.

The heat is on, on the street Inside your head, on every beat And the beat's so loud, deep inside The pressure's high, just to stay alive 'Cause the heat is on Oh-wo-ho, oh-wo-ho Caught up in the action I've been looking out for you Oh-wo-ho, oh-wo-ho (Tell me can you feel it) (Tell me can you feel it) (Tell me can you feel it) The heat is on, the heat is on, the heat is on Oh it's on the street , the heat is - on (repeat chorus) The shadows high on the darker side Behind those doors, it's a wilder ride You can make a break, you can win or lose That's a chance you take, when the heat's on you When the heat is on (repeat chorus) It's on the street The heat is on, the heat is on, the heat is on Yeah it's on the street The heat is on
