Glenn Lewis Frey (/fraɪ/; November 6, 1948 – January 18, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, producer and actor, best known as a founding member of rock band the Eagles. During the 1970s, Frey played guitar with the band, as well as piano and keyboards. Alongside Don Henley, Frey was one of the primary singers of the Eagles; he sang lead vocals on songs such as "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Tequila Sunrise", "Already Gone", "Lyin' Eyes", "New Kid in Town" and "Heartache Tonight".
After the breakup of the Eagles in 1980, Frey embarked on a successful solo career. He released his debut album, No Fun Aloud, in 1982 and went on to record Top 40 hits "The One You Love", "Smuggler's Blues", "Sexy Girl", "The Heat Is On", "You Belong to the City", "True Love", "Soul Searchin'" and "Livin' Right".
As a member of the Eagles, Frey won six Grammy Awards, and five American Music Awards. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, the first year they were nominated. Consolidating his solo recordings and those with the Eagles, Frey released 24 Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Glenn Joseph Frey (March 6, 1912 – January 5, 1980) was an American football quarterback and running back in the National Football League. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football for the Temple Owls.
The Enlightenment, known in French as the Siècle des Lumières (Century of Enlightenment) and in German as the Aufklärung, was a philosophical movement which dominated the world of ideas in Europe in the 18th century. The principal goals of Enlightenment thinkers were liberty, progress, reason, tolerance, fraternity, and ending the abuses of the church and state. In France, the central doctrines of the Lumières were individual liberty and religious tolerance, in opposition to the principle of absolute monarchy and the fixed dogmas of the Roman Catholic Church. The Enlightenment was marked by increasing empiricism, scientific rigor, and reductionism, along with increased questioning of religious orthodoxy.
French historians traditionally place the Enlightenment between 1715, the year that Louis XIV died, and 1789, the beginning of the French Revolution. Some recent historians begin the period in the 1620s, with the start of the scientific revolution. The Philosophes, the French term for the philosophers of the period, widely circulated their ideas through meetings at scientific academies, Masonic lodges, literary salons and coffee houses, and through printed books and pamphlets. The ideas of the Enlightenment undermined the authority of the monarchy and the church, and paved the way for the revolutions of the 18th and 19th centuries. A variety of 19th-century movements, including liberalism and neo-classicism, trace their intellectual heritage back to the Enlightenment.
Age of reason may refer to:
In the canon law of the Catholic Church, a person is a subject of certain legal rights and obligations.
The age of reason is the age at which children attain the use of reason and begin to have moral responsibility. On completion of the seventh year a minor is presumed to have the use of reason, but mental retardation or insanity prevent some individuals from ever attaining the use of reason. The term "use of reason" appears in the Code of Canon Law 17 times, but "age of reason" does not appear. However, the term "age of reason" is used in canon law commentaries such as the New Commentary on the Code of Canon Law published by Paulist Press in 2002.
Children who do not have the use of reason and the mentally handicapped are sometimes called "innocents" because of their inability to commit sins: even if their actions are objectively sinful, they sometimes lack capacity for subjective guilt.
In the Eastern Catholic Churches, the Eucharist and Confirmation are given immediately after baptism, even to infants who do not yet have the use of reason. In Latin Rite Catholicism, Confirmation is conferred, except in danger of death, only on persons who have the use of reason; and Holy Communion may be administered to children only if "they have sufficient knowledge and careful preparation so that they understand the mystery of Christ according to their capacity and are able to receive the Body of Christ with faith and devotion." In danger of death, the Eucharist may be administered also to children who lack the use of reason, if the child can distinguish the sacrament from ordinary food and receive it reverently. This is likewise true for those who are not so mentally retarded that they are not assumed to ever gain use of reason.

Broadly speaking, the Enlightenment was an intellectual and philosophical movement, largely based in Europe, that spanned about a century—from the mid-to-late 1600s to the late 1700s. It was a time of major intellectual upheaval, characterized by the rise of reason and the scientific method as tools for understanding the world and bringing about progress. In fact, many of the radical ideas that came about in the Enlightenment period would ultimately lay the foundation for the liberal democratic institutions that we take for granted today, including: impartial courts and the rule of law, democratically elected governments, separation of church and state, equality for all people, and freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Well they look to the east, they look to the west
The third world wonders, which way's the best?
We got freedom, we got soul
We got blue jeans and rock 'n' roll
Man, there ain't no choice, it's better in the U.S.A.
(It's better in the U.S.A.)
You can be what you want, say what you wanna say
(It's better in the U.S.A.)
How can I make you understand, it's better in the U.S.A.?
(It's better in the U.S.A.)
I hear the same propaganda day after day
It's gettin' so hip to knock the U.S.A.
If we're so awful and we're so bad
You oughta check the night life in Leningrad
Man, it ain't even close, it's better in the U.S.A.
(It's better in the U.S.A.)
If you could see behind the curtain life is cold and gray
(It's better in the U.S.A.)
How can I make you understand, it's better in the U.S.A.?
(It's better, it's better)
I think I'll play
Nobody's perfect and change comes slow
It's really up to you which way you wanna go
You can lean to the left and lean to the right
You can stand in the dark, you can stand in the light
Drivin' on the beach on a night in June
Me and my baby in the lover's moon
They're playin' sweet soul music, got it turned up loud
Make me feel so good, make me feel so proud
Man, there ain't no choice, it's better in the U.S.A.
(It's better in the U.S.A.)
Well they'd be movin' here from Moscow if they could only find a way
(It's better in the U.S.A.)
How can I make you understand, it's better in the U.S.A.? Baby, baby
(It's better)
We got the burgers and fries in the U.S.A.
We got the friendly skies in the U.S.A.
We got the beautiful girls in the U.S.A.
Got the beautiful curls in the U.S.A.
We're drivin' beautiful cars in the U.S.A.
We're diggin' movie stars in the U.S.A.
We get to make romance in the U.S.A.
Let the little girl dance in the U.S.A.
It's better, baby, nice sweater, baby
What do you say you and me go for a little drive?
Come on
