Glenn Lewis Frey (/fraɪ/; November 6, 1948 – January 18, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, producer and actor, best known as a founding member of rock band the Eagles. During the 1970s, Frey played guitar with the band, as well as piano and keyboards. Alongside Don Henley, Frey was one of the primary singers of the Eagles; he sang lead vocals on songs such as "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Tequila Sunrise", "Already Gone", "Lyin' Eyes", "New Kid in Town" and "Heartache Tonight".
As a member of the Eagles, Frey won six Grammy Awards, and five American Music Awards. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, the first year they were nominated. Consolidating his solo recordings and those with the Eagles, Frey released 24 Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Smuggler's Blues" is a song written by Glenn Frey and Jack Tempchin, and performed by Frey. It was the third and final single from Frey's second studio album, The Allnighter (1984). It followed "Sexy Girl" and "The Allnighter"; of the three, it charted highest. Its music video won Frey an MTV Video Music Award in 1985.
The fifteenth episode of Miami Vice is named for the song, and incorporated it into the action. Frey played a pilot in the episode.
Music video
The video for "Smuggler's Blues" won Frey an MTV Video Music Award in 1985, and inspired an episode of Miami Vice, in which Frey guest-starred.
In the video, Frey plays a smuggler (his then-wife Janie plays the smuggler's female accomplice). The video is like a short movie, fitting the lyrics exactly and pack danger, suspense, and intrigue into a small segment of time.
It opens with Frey in a car with his friend and male accomplice, counting money. A drug deal is about to go down. Frey appears nervous, but his friend laughs off his concerns. As he goes in the building to complete the deal, Frey stays in the car. Suddenly, he hears a gunshot. His friend comes running out, shouting that they have to get out of there right away and that something has gone wrong. As Frey peels out, two men chase them, shooting. They strike and kill Frey's friend. Frey sees that his friend is dead and barely has time to react before he has to figure out a way to escape from the two men who are now chasing him down in a car.
The following is an episode list for the 1980s' undercover cop television series Miami Vice. In the United States, the show was aired on NBC. The first episode of the series premiered on September 16, 1984 with the series concluding on May 21, 1989 after five seasons. Though the series concluded on May 21, 1989, NBC aired three more episodes after the series finale, and USA Network aired a fourth post-series finale episode, thus concluding the series on January 25, 1990. There are a total of 111 episodes, spanning five years (1984–1989) of the show's run. The individual seasons are available on DVD in Regions 1, 2 and 4.

THE ONE YOU LOVE
Glenn Frey
..I know you need a friend.
Someone you can talk to
Who will understand.
What you're going thru.
When it comes to love.
There's no easy answer.
Only you can say.
What you're gonna do.
I heard you on the phone.
You took his number.
Said you were alone.
That you'll call him soon.
Isn't he the guy.
The guy who'd left you cry.
Isn't he the one.
Who'd made you blue...ooh...
When you remember those
nights In his arms.
You know you got
to make up your mind.
Are you're gonna stay.
With the one who loves you.
Or are you goin back.
To the one you love.
Someone's gonna cry.
When they learn
they've Lost you.
Someone's gonna thanks.

Blues legend ... 'Florida Man' by Blue Öyster Cult ... Why are so many Florida songs about drugs? Unlike Glenn Frey's upbeat 80s anthem "Smugglers Blues," Lana Del Rey's "Florida Kilos" is dark and moody.
“They move it through Miami, sell it in L.A.,” Glenn Frey sings in his ‘80s classic “Smuggler’s Blues,” a lyrical tale about the dangerous underworld of the cocaine trade. “They ... .
"The Heat is On" – Glenn Frey (actually, I prefer “Smuggler’s Blues,” but we have a theme to maintain here) ... The Louisiana guitar slinger is on the road in support of the new record, with a show at the House of Blues on Friday.
With major releases like The Lord of the Rings... Although it was an extremely loose adaptation of the episode “Smuggler’s Blues,” itself an adaptation of a Glenn Frey song, it cast aside much of the iconic look and texture of the classic series ... ....
