Andy Sheppard (born 20 January 1957) is a British jazz saxophonist and composer. He has been awarded several prizes at the British Jazz Awards, and has worked with some notable figures in contemporary jazz, including Gil Evans, Carla Bley, George Russell and Steve Swallow.
Sheppard was born in Warminster, Wiltshire, England, in 1957. At the age of 19 he emerged as a musician in the Salisbury-based contemporary quartet Sphere in the late 1970s, gigging only three weeks after picking up the saxophone. He honed his skills in the wine bars and jazz clubs of the UK and Europe in the early 1980s. He also played with world music groups and with more established improvisers such as Keith Tippett. While still with Sphere, Sheppard moved to Paris, working with French bands Lumière and Urban Sax.
In the mid-1980s Sheppard returned to the UK, playing often on Ki Longfellow-Stanshall's and Vivian Stanshall's Bristol, England-based Old Profanity Showboat, and released his self-titled debut solo album, featuring Randy Brecker and Steve Swallow, who also produced the album. The record was well received and led to Sheppard being awarded the Best Newcomer prize at the 1987 British Jazz Awards, followed by the Best Instrumentalist Award in 1988. '87 also saw Sheppard join George Russell's Living Time Orchestra and tour with Gil Evans.
Andy Sheppard (born 1972 Simcoe, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian broadcaster and musician. He was the host of the defunct CBC Radio 2's nightly jazz program After Hours and currently produces and is a regular guest host of the contemporary music program The Signal for CBC Radio 2.
A graduate of McGill University's music program, Sheppard is also a guitarist, composer, experimental artist, and songwriter. His song "Until Next Time" was named the winner of the 2006 Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award. His song "And The Bells They Rang" was featured in the viral video Shit Girls Say and his piece "The Things You Want (and The Things You Need)" was featured in a promotional film for the Tony Hawk Ride Channel.
"In the Dark" is a song performed by American recording artist Dev. It was written by Dev alongside The Cataracs, who produced it for Dev's debut studio album, The Night the Sun Came Up (2011). The song was released as the album's second single on April 25, 2011, through Universal Republic. "In the Dark" came about when Dev wanted to make a sexy song to show that she is a grown woman. She collaborated with American rapper Flo Rida on an official remix as she believed she would enjoy the remix when hearing it on the radio. "In the Dark" is a dance-pop song with a saxophone hook and influences of Eurodance, Latin and jazz music. The lyrics emphasize sex drives and letting the sensation of touch fully take over from sight.
The song received generally positive reviews from music critics, who highlighted its production and the saxophone line. However, critics were divided regarding the song's lyrical content; some referred it to as sexy, while others dismissed its metaphors. "In the Dark" enjoyed commercial success in the United States, peaking at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the summit of Hot Dance Club Songs. The song achieved its highest national peak in Slovakia, where it reached number one. Elsewhere, the song peaked in the top forty in Canada, Australia, Denmark, Ireland, Scotland and the United Kingdom. The song's music video features shots of black-painted hands that touch Dev while she is standing naked. According to Dev, the inspiration behind the video was to reflect the sexy and dark aspects of the song, and the initial idea was to create a Tim Burton-inspired feel.
Can't Take that Away from Me is the first mixtape by American pop-R&B singer JoJo. The free mixtape was released exclusively to Rap-Up.com on September 7, 2010, as a prelude to her third studio album, which has yet to be released. The mixtape received a positive reaction from both JoJo's fans and critics alike. This is JoJo's first independent release without a major label.
Following the release of "Anything"—the final single from her second album The High Road—in late 2007, JoJo stated that she had been writing and working with producers for her third studio album, but would not go into the studio until early 2008. In mid-2008, JoJo revealed that the album, previously titled All I Want Is Everything, was scheduled for a fourth quarter release that year, to coincide with her eighteenth birthday in December. However, the album's release was delayed due to issues with her record label, Da Family Entertainment, which had encountered financial difficulties. Eventually, JoJo decided to sue the label in order to be released from her contract. JoJo won the case, and her label Blackground Records reached a deal with Interscope Records for distribution. To prepare for the release of All I Want Is Everything, then retitled Jumping Trains and now untitled without a release date, JoJo decided to release a mixtape in 2010.
NCIS and its characters were originally introduced in a two-part episode of the CBS television series JAG in April 2003. The show premiered on September 23, 2003, in the United States.
Created by Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill, and executive produced by Bellisario, Shane Brennan and Gary Glasberg, NCIS follows Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his Major Case Response Unit based out of the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard. Gibbs is joined by Senior Field Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), a seasoned investigator, former Presidential protector Kate Todd (Sasha Alexander, seasons 1–2), M.I.T. graduate Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), former N.S.A. analyst and disaster protocol whiz Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham, seasons 11–), Mossad liaison Ziva David (Cote de Pablo, seasons 3–11), and NCIS' Directors Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll, season 5–), and Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly, seasons 3–5), along with Forensic Scientist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette), Medical Examiner Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum), and his assistant Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen).
The Dark is the second full-length album released by Metal Church. It was released on 6 October 1986 and was the last album featuring the group's classic lineup of David Wayne, Kurdt Vanderhoof, Kirk Arrington, Duke Erickson, and Craig Wells. 1999's Masterpeace album reunited the former four, with John Marshall replacing Wells.
The Dark talks of somber themes, such as assassination, death, struggle, rituals, and the supernatural: the lyrics from "Line of Death", for example, were based on Libyan hostilities in the Gulf of Sidra. "Watch the Children Pray" became the band's first music video. The album was dedicated to the late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, who died nine days before its release. In order to promote The Dark, Metal Church supported Metallica and Anthrax on the Damage, Inc. Tour. They also opened for King Diamond.
"Ton of Bricks" appears as the opening track in the Charlie Sheen movie No Man's Land.
Reviews for The Dark have been mostly positive. Allmusic's Eduardo Rivadavia awards the album two-and-a-half stars out of five, and states that it "contained some of the group's best material." In 2005, the album was ranked number 389 in Rock Hard magazine's book of The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time.
The Dark is a fantasy novel written by Marianne Curley. It is the second book in the Guardians of Time Trilogy.
As with all of the Guardians of Time books, the prologue is written in the third person, while all the chapters are written in first person switching points of view between two narrators. In this book, the two narrators are Isabel and Arkarian.
The story is set in Angel Falls which is located above the ancient city of Veridian.
The story is set in the present or near-present time. Some of the story takes place in the past, in a variety of times/places. It also takes place in the Underworld.
Arkarian is kidnapped by the Order of Chaos, who plan to weaken the Guard by erasing his birth. Isabel is determined to save him, but that means defying Lorian's orders, risking her life, and facing the underworld itself. Going through many hardships in the underworld with her friend Ethan, and brother Matt. They meet a new friend along the way ( John Wren ) but also rescuing Ethan's sister who was killed when he was a boy ( she is a ghost/spirit ) - ( a wren is a birdlike creature but still has somewhat the appearance of a human ). When rescuing Arkarian, they gain another member of the guard Dillon who was working for the Order of Chaos but came to the good side. Arkarian and Isabel realise they love each other and Arkarian saves them by opening a rift. When they return Lorian summons Isabel to a hearing and Arkarian pleas for her life and finds out Lorian is his father. At the hearing Isabel is pardonned and Lorian grants her the power to cease ageing so she and Arkarian can be together.

This is a short video from the Sept. 28, 1968 game between the New York Yankees and the Red Sox in Boston, in which Yankees legend Mickey Mantle has his final at-bat in the major leagues. The game, the second-to-last of the season at Fenway Park, was broadcast on WHDH TV in Boston, with Ken Coleman on the play by play here. Mantle came up in the first inning to face Jim Lonborg and got a nice round of applause. He popped to shortstop Rico Petrocelli, then trotted back to the dugout, Andy Kosco replacing him in the bottom half of the inning and playing first base. Lonborg had just recently given up Mantle's 536th and final career home run (the announcer short-changes the Mick a bit). It was tough watching Mantle hit late in his career because of his bad legs, but even so, he still could whi...

Too much information only means more stress
Welcome to the computer age
You've got to have every machine that we make
Stronger faster new and improved if you want to compete
(check it out)
'Till the next vest thing makes you obsolete
Stay up to speed with technology or you will be left in the dark
You better be afraid if you can't keep up it'll be too late
And you will be left in the dark
They can always page you or call you on your cellular phone
There's no way you can hide the won't leave you alone
