Hilary Erhard Duff (born September 28, 1987) is an American actress and singer. Duff began her acting career at a young age, and quickly became labeled a teen idol as the starring titular character in the television series Lizzie McGuire (2001–04). The series proved to be a hit, leading to a film adaptation of the series to be released. Duff began working on numerous projects with the Disney channel, including the film Cadet Kelly (2002). She later began work on an album, releasing the Christmas themed Santa Claus Lane (2002) through Walt Disney Records. Upon signing with Hollywood Records, Duff began working on her second studio album, Metamorphosis (2003). The album achieved critical and commercial success, topping the Billboard 200 and selling over three million copies in the United States alone. The album also found success in both Canada and Japan. Duff's success in both acting and music led to her becoming a household name, with merchandise such as dolls, clothing, and fragrances being released.
Hilary Duff is the self-titled third studio album by American recording artist Hilary Duff. It was released on September 15, 2004, by Hollywood Records. Duff cited the album as being more mature than her previous albums, stating "Basically, I'm not Lizzie McGuire anymore". The seventeen-track album saw Duff collaborating with the same producers she did on Metamorphosis, saying that it was more comfortable for her that way. Recording sessions for the album took place during May to August 2004, partially between filming of Raise Your Voice (2004) and The Perfect Man (2005), both in which Duff had starring roles.
It received generally negative reviews from music critics, many of whom compared the album to the music of Avril Lavigne and Ashlee Simpson. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 192,000 copies in its first week. To date, Hilary Duff has sold 1,800,000 copies in the US. It became her second consecutive number one debut in Canada and produced two singles that were not major hits. It was eventually certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Hilary Duff was number sixty-five on Billboard magazine's year-end top albums chart in November 2005.
Roller Coaster is the second album, released in 2004, by Scott Cain, singer-songwriter and winner of Australian Popstars 2002. It was released on the ABC Kids label and is targeted at children, but is lyrically relatively adult and not dissimilar to his debut album, Controlled Folly. However Cain co-wrote every song on Roller Coaster compared to only two on his debut.
The album's themes, according to the press release, are "songs that most kids can relate to; from having your first celebrity crush, hanging out, and generally enjoying life". Many of the tracks on Roller Coaster relate somehow to skateboarding. The track "Hilary Duff" (about Hilary Duff, sometimes called "I've Got a Crush on Hilary Duff") was released for airplay as a promotional single, and a music video was shot, but the track never quite saw release as a proper commercial single. The track "Perfect Day" here made its second appearance, having also been included on Controlled Folly in 2002, and "Step Into My World" was originally released on a Roadshow compilation in 2003.
"All About You" is a song recorded by American singer Hilary Duff from her fifth studio album Breathe In. Breathe Out. (2015). The song was released on August 12, 2014 by RCA Records, as the second single following the lead single, "Chasing the Sun". Written by Duff, Kristian Lundin, Savan Kotecha, and Carl Falk, "All About You" a folk pop and pop rock song, having a banjo, handclaps, and a "heavy hand" drum as the song's instrumentation. Lyrically, the song talks about how the protagonist is so hooked on her boyfriend that she is willing to prove her true love for him anywhere.
Critics found similarities between "All About You" and songs from Taylor Swift and The Lumineers. The song became more successful than "Chasing the Sun" in Australia, where it managed to reach the top 20, the first time a Duff song had done so in nine years. Elsewhere, it had less impact, failing to enter the Billboard Hot 100 but managing to chart on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles and Top 40 Mainstream.
All About You is a 2001 African Americanromantic comedy film that was written and directed by Christine Swanson. The film stars Renee Goldsberry as a woman who tries to find love and ends up in a complicated romantic triangle. The film had its world premiere on August 4, 2001, at the Urbanworld Film Festival. Swanson initially had some difficulty in finding a distributor for the film, as distributors stated it was "not edgy enough".
Swanson released a followup entitled All About Us in 2007.
Plot
Nicole is in love with her boyfriend Robbie and is ready to start talking about marriage. Unfortunately for her, he hasn’t even thought about a future with her. She moves to San Francisco to start a new life, and ends up with Robbie's brother Brian as her roommate for one month. Just as Nicole and Brian realize they have feelings for each other, Robbie wants to try a relationship with Nicole again.
Credited to the writing team of Mick Jagger and Richards, "All About You" is solely the work of Richards. The song is a slow bittersweet ballad that has been interpreted as a final comment on the Anita Pallenberg romance that began in 1967 and ended in 1979 when Richards met his future wife model Patti Hansen. Richards' lyrics and singing express mixed feelings of attachment and revulsion; however, the song may also be interpreted as an early sign of the fracturing relationship between Richards and Jagger, the longtime leaders of the band. Richards had "cleaned up" after his 1977 Toronto heroin bust and wanted to take more responsibility back from Jagger. The lead singer and businessman had kept the band rolling through the worst period of Richards' excesses in the 70s, and in several interviews, Richards stated he immediately encountered resistance from Jagger regarding his new interest in taking some of the front man's burden.
