The Lavaproof Bug Net is an upgraded version of the Bug Net. It allows the player to successfully catch the Lavafly, Magma Snail, and Hell Butterfly. It swings faster than the Bug Net and can destroy tall grass and vines.

Its upgraded version is the Golden Bug Net which is faster and bigger.

Notes

• Underworld-exclusive bait caught by the Lavaproof Bug Net can also be used for fishing in Water/Honey, but it may be wasteful to do so.

Tips

• As the Hotline Fishing Hook can only be obtained rarely after a significant amount of Angler quests in Hardmode, crafting a Lavaproof Bug Net is highly recommended as it allows fishing in lava relatively early.
  • The Lavaproof Fishing Hook that can be found in Obsidian Crates and Hellstone Crates can be used as it allows fishing in lava using any bait and any fishing pole. This will still require you to use the Lavaproof Bug Net in order to obtain the accessory.
