The Rayter sector was a sector located in the Outer Rim region of the galaxy.
Description[]
Located in the Outer Rim, the Rayter sector was surrounded by the Koradin and Kriz sectors on the coreward side and by the Tunka and Seitia sectors on the rimward side.[1]
Planets in the sector included Karra, Bancar, Dahvil, Najarka, Narg, Pako Ramoon, Salteract, and Shimmer. Rayter sector also included the Laim system, which had no planets.
During the Galactic Civil War, the Rayter sector had a network of subspace relay stations operated by the Rayter Sector Subspace Broadcast Network (RSSBN). It had been authorized by the Rayter Sector High Advisory Council in order to replicate a small part of the Old Republic's HoloNet. It consisted of sixty-four relay space stations and planet-based broadcast centers.[10]
History[]
The sector was home to TransGalMeg Industries, with their headquarters located on Narg.[2] Prior to the Clone Wars they supplied the Jedi Order with hyperspace rings for their new starfighters.[11]
During the Galactic Civil War, the Rayter sector was governed by Moff Nile Owen. The Imperial Sector Fleet included the Imperial-class Star Destroyer the Impending Doom and the Imperial cruiser Kana's Steel. During Operation 45RA, Owen tried to bring the Shashay over to the side of the Empire, but was foiled by Rebel agents.[2]
The Alliance itself had no bases in the sector; it operated from Berrol's Donn[2] in the neighboring Kriz sector.[1] The Worthless Fool, a VR-10 Cuirilla-Rayl Xylines-class Spacetug, was one of its ship available for its operations.[2]
Following the Battle of Endor, the Rayter sector was among the first sectors to throw off the Empire.[7]
