If you’re like us, you’ve probably wondered what everyday stuff famous people add to their carts — like hair spray or an electric toothbrush. We asked Giada De Laurentiis, chef, cookbook author, and founder of Giadzy, a line of Italian pantry products, about the body scrub, reading glasses, and coin pendants she can’t live without.

My mother and my grandmother have always been so into skin care, and I’ve been taking care of my skin since I was 14 with a 30-minute routine. My mother made her own scrubs from scratch. Finding clean products for my skin and body has been a lifelong mission. I love the smell of this scrub and I’m very sensitive to fragrances. This gives me velvety, buttery, moisturized skin I want to touch all the time. I’ve been using it for the past five or six years.

I always have these on hand and get tons of compliments on them. They’re stashed around my house and I have a pair in my purse. They’re so freaking fabulous. The rose-gold tint is super flattering. For a long time, I struggled with having to put glasses on to read, but these have allowed me to relax and embrace this stage of my life now. I feel chic when I’m putting these glasses on to read a menu.

This has been my tried-and-true lip gloss for years; it’s super hydrating and stays on for hours. I hide them around my house for easy reapplication. I always want to feel the hydration. I use Nars because I like all their tints and I have a set of different colors. They’re easy to put on and they’re not super sticky. They give my lips a vibrant feel and color.

I love her coin pendants. They all have a specific symbol, whether it be a zodiac sign or a meaningful word. They’re beautiful for layering, too. I’ve been giving them as gifts to people, especially the zodiac signs. I just gave one to my daughter, Jade, for her 16th birthday, an Aries pendant.

I started using these when I was shooting my show Everyday Italian because my back would hurt so badly after long days. Then I started putting them in my home. I have them by the sink, stove, and refrigerator. I’ve had them for 20 years, and the way I’ve designed my house and kitchen, you can’t see them unless you’re standing right on them. I’ve had to buy new ones every five years because I have three dogs and they like to scratch them up. My German shepherd likes to lay on it and sleep, even though he has dog beds. I always find him on one in the morning.

My three dogs and my cat love these beds. They’re super soft and stylish enough to leave out. I need things around me that are pretty to look at, and dog beds for the most part are not, but these work really well with my living room, which is done in desert colors. I get their names monogrammed on them. They’re easy to wash and clean — even if there’s an accident in the bed, they have a great coating on them so nothing penetrates the inside. My cat, Bella, spends most of her time in the beds, and my daughter sometimes sits in them with her. I’ve bought seven of these beds. XL for Enzo, the German shepherd, and M for the little guys, Ollie and Bruno.

It’s almost two feet long. Half the fun is breaking the strands of pasta in half before cooking. It’s very hard to find these big, tall pastas, and I so badly want to have a pasta that brings the joy and fun I had as a kid, cooking with my parents and grandfather. The texture is very special — it grabs the sauce. It’s made with the best ingredients. Pasta is not the enemy.
