Kirby's Dream Land 3 is Kirby's fifth platformer game for the Super Nintendo. Like Kirby's Dream Land 2 for the Game Boy, Kirby's animal friends could help him out during the game, and more were added since then. Much like the ability mixing system in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Kirby could get one of his abilities and then get assistance from a friend to create a whole new ability. It was released in physical form in North America on November 27, 1997, then 3 months later, on March 27, 1998, it was released in Japan. Problems with the physical copy's PAL conversion, however, prevented the game in Europe and Australia for several years and completely unreleased in physical form and when it was re-released in those regions, it was not released in physical form. The game has been re-released on the Wii's Virtual Console in 2009, the Wii U's Virtual Console in 2013, and the Nintendo Switch Online in 2019. It was included within the Kirby's Dream Collection that was released in 2012 to denote Kirby's 20th anniversary.
