Biography[]
Secret Invasion[]
Guarding Raava[]
The Skrull impersonating Ruben Steiner served as part of Raava's security detail while she was impersonating James Rhodes. He stood by Raava's side as she informed President James Ritson that Nick Fury and Maria Hill had gone absent without leave and Ritson ordered "Rhodes" to have them brought in.[2] "Steiner" accompanied Raava to a meeting in England regarding a recent attack on Russian soil and escorted "Rhodes" out of the meeting. Raava received a phone call from Nick Fury, so she and "Steiner" searched the building for Fury but could not find him. Raava agreed to a meeting with Fury, where "Steiner" searched him before allowing him to sit with "Rhodes." As the two talked, "Steiner" brought them drinks, and Fury asked how well "Rhodes" trusted "Steiner," suggesting that he was a Skrull. A car for Fury to be taken back to the United States arrived, so "Steiner" informed "Rhodes" of this. However, rather than allowing "Steiner" to take him to the car, Fury disarmed "Steiner" and left himself, hurting "Steiner's" arm.[3]
Ambush on President Ritson[]
Steiner served as Raava's driver and took him from his hotel to the airport, where Raava met with President James Ritson. Raava asked "Steiner" for a mint as she got into her car, and Steiner drove them toward the place Ritson was expecting to meet. However, as the Skrull Resistance had planned, the motorcade was attacked. "Steiner" and Raava stayed in their car while the Skrulls and soldiers fought and the Russians were blamed.[4]
Threatening Nick Fury[]
"Steiner" and Raava went to King George VII Private Hospital to meet with Ritson, and they found Nick Fury there, threatening Raava. "Steiner" reached for his gun, but Raava told "Steiner" to stand down. Raava revealed that she had leaked footage of "Fury" killing Maria Hill, so Fury started to leave. However, "Steiner" and the rest of the agents pointed their guns at Fury, and Raava threatened to kill him if he approached the President again before Fury left. "Steiner" continued to stand by Raava's side as she called Gravik and promised to send confirmation of Ritson's attempt to bomb New Skrullos.[1]
Infiltration into King George VII Private Hospital[]
"Steiner" stood outside James Ritson's hospital room to guard it, and looked to Raava as she left the room. Raava was warned by Sonya Falsworth that Nick Fury was going to attempt to kill Ritson, so she and "Steiner" moved quickly to bring Ritson out of his hospital. "Steiner" asked what the rest of the guards should do, so Raava had "Steiner" order them to find Fury. As they rushed through the hospital and reached an elevator, "Steiner" attempted to contact agent Cannon, but received no response. He attempted to contact Johns and again did not receive a response, so he and Raava rushed Ritson into the elevator.
Once they reached an upper level, they fanned out and "Steiner" was ordered to watch a door. Ritson ordered "Steiner" to give him his gun, so "Steiner" obliged. Raava was brought out of a room she was checking while Falsworth held her at gunpoint, so "Steiner" prepared to defend Raava, but he was shot with a tranquilizer dart by Fury, rendering him unconscious.[5]
