- "I want you to accept what you fear the most... that your family died for nothing. You believed they were sacrificed in exchange for your gifts. That they died so that you could save the world, one person at a time. And now you pretend like you never wanted it? You're terrified you've already failed them. And you have. Because you are not, and you never will be, a hero."

After realizing she has powers, Trish Walker goes to the park to train. She finds out she can do many flips and has reflexes as well as agility. She also starts getting a better relationship with her mother, Dorothy Walker. Trish regularly listens to police radio channels and trains at a gym. At one point, she stopped a man from robbing an individual. However, she is sued for assault. She cannot get enough money to hire Jeri Hogarth. Walker goes to see Jessica Jones, but stops by in the middle of her break up with Oscar Arocho. She leaves undetected. Malcolm Ducasse has no moved into a bigger apartment and works for Hogarth. He is able to convince Hogarth to have Trish pay less money. Trish starts an investigation into Andrew Brandt and the theft of a painting.
Erik Gelden is punished for not delivering payment that he owes to Sal Blaskowski.
A week later, Jones continues to do Private Investigations work when Dorothy arrives telling Jones that Trish is missing. She asks her to find Trish. Meanwhile, Hogarth's ALS has grown worse and she has trouble getting out of bed. Ducasse arrives at the sight of a car crash and pays the victim off. He then helps his client, the perpetrator, up. Jones and Dorothy arrive at Trish's apartment. Jones looks around and finds Trish's computer. In the computer contains an unsent email to Jones explaining why she thought she had to kill Alisa Jones. This angers her.
Jones continues her search and eventually finds Trish following a man into his apartment. She is then attacked and Jones saves Trish. Trish doesn't say anything and simply walks into the living room. She finds that the sculpture she was searching for is gone. She then jumps out the window and goes back to her apartment. Jones follows her and realizes she has powers. Trish explains that she has been following that man for weeks and now he's gotten away. Jones simply tells her that her mother is looking for her before she leaves. Hogarth attends an old friend's art gallery, Kith Lyonne. Jones returns to the bar and meets Erik Gelden. They make a bet that his burger is good or not. Jones goes home and opens the door to find a man in a mask that attacks her. He stabs her in the stomach area and leaves. Ducasse hears the commotion and calls the police before tending to Jones.
Trish hears of the attack and visits Jones in the hospital. Jones asks for information on Trish's painting case because she believes someone related to that could've attacked her. Jones soon finds out that she lost her spleen. After recovering, she limps her way home and Ducasse gives her the knife that was used. She runs prints and finds no DNA. Jones later breaks into Brandt's apartment and finds Walker. Her sister convinces her to go home. Meanwhile, Hogarth has fallen in love with Kith and tasks Ducasse to find dirt on her husband. Ducasse infiltrates Peter Lyonne's college and finds dirt. He returns home to his girlfriend, Zaya Okonjo, and surveys the information.
Jones walks down the street tailing leads. Unbeknownst to her, Walker is following her. Jones then passes out because of her lost spleen. Walker calls an ambulance for her. She is once again discharged from the hospital and returns home. Meanwhile, Hogarth and Kith has sex. Kith tells her that Peter and her have an open marriage. Jones visits an auction gallery. She finds Walker who is posing as a buyer to get Brandt to slip up. Walker finds Jones who says she just wants Brandt's information. However, Walker calls her out saying she isn't ready to make the tough call. Walker claims that she is and has been honing her abilities. Jones easily knocks Walker out and uses her phone to call Brandt posing as an auction employee. She asks Brandt to meet her because he has one a sculpture.
Jones meets with Brandt and attacks him. However, Brandt seems afraid making Jones realize he isn't the man she's looking for. Jones returns home to find Eddy Costa who talks to her about a new masked vigilante. Jones claims to not no what he is talking about. She then sees Gelden down the hallway and realizes that she wasn't the target, it was Gelden. After confronting him, Gelden explains the deal with Blaskowski. They then go looking for money drop sites that Gelden was going to go to. Gelden returns to Blaskowski, but she claims he is three hours late. She goes to kill him, but Walker has tailed him and attacks Blaskoswki. During the scuffle, she accidentally stabs Blaskowski.
Jones becomes curious over the person who set up the third drop site. She goes to Gregory Sallinger's apartment and looks around taking pictures. She sees a wall of knives, with one missing. She assumes it was the knife used to stab her. Suddenly, Sallinger sneaks up behind her. Jones wakes up with a camera pointing at her. She is also restrained. He then says he wants a confession that Jones doesn't deserve her powers. He also calls 911 claiming that Jones broke in and attacked him. Jones is later set free and finds Gelden at her door. They go in and find a single dollar pinned to her wall. On it is written "hero?" and "fraud?" in blood. Meanwhile, Sallinger kills a man in his apartment and peacefully eats a snack.
Jones and Walker decide to work together to take down Sallinger. This includes Jones training Walker. Meanwhile, Ducasse delivers the dirt to Hogarth: Peter has been taking money from their fundraisers. Hogarth tells Kith, who is angry. Ducasse feels bad and decides to take a few days break. Jones and Walker trail Sallinger, who happens to walk past Gelden arguing with his sister, Berry Gelden. Erik explains that Sallinger is on to him, so he needs to get Berry out of the city as she is in danger. Jones then agrees to have Ducasse protect her. She returns to her apartment to find that her assistant, Gillian, has found four of Sallinger's victims. Hogarth calls Kith to find that Peter has committed suicide.
Jones and Walker track down his victims to a railroad yard. They hop into a tank and find many bodies submerged in oil. Jones doesn't realize that the tank is booby trapped and trips on a wire. The lid then closes and poisonous gas starts filling up the tank. Walker comes in at the last second and saves Jones. They then call the police, but Walker flees the scene as she doesn't want her identity leaked. Jones gives Costa the address to Sallinger, but he can't do anything about it since there's no evidence. Meanwhile, Sallinger has kidnapped Gelden.
Sallinger restrains Gelden and stops recording him. As he gets closer, Gelden becomes very injured. Sallinger realizes that Gelden's powers are that he can sense the evil in people. If he sense evil, he becomes hurt. Jones gets a call from Sallinger saying he has Gelden. Jones rushes over to find that police are already there. Costa informs Jones that there were pictures of seven victims in his home, but Jones insisted there were eight victims. Jones turns her efforts on finding Gelden. At Walker's apartment, she finds her mother waiting for her. Dorothy has discovered her powers. Later, Jones and Walker arrive at Sallinger's location to find him attacking them with a knife. They disarm Sallinger, knock him out, and take Gelden back to Alias Investigations.
Jones gets a call from Costa who says that there isn't any DNA evidence on the bodies, there is no way to know that it was Sallinger. He also tells her Sallinger is pressing charges. Jones decides to get him arrested on kidnapping, so she plans to lure him. The next morning, Jones and Walker witness Hogarth representing Sallinger as he is released from prison. Sallinger places all the blame onto Jones.
Jones and Walker decide to go out to Sallinger's home town, Wappinger Falls. They search for Sallinger's best friend's house because his friend was murdered. They suspect it was Sallinger's first kill. Jones trespasses onto the friend's parent's property and sees a gazebo. The parents say that Sallinger stayed to build the entire thing right after his friend passed away. Jones rips the gazebo out of the ground and digs in the dirt. After some digging, she finds Nathan's corpse. She takes it and plans to find DNA evidence of Sallinger. Meanwhile, Ducasse meets with Sallinger as he is now his client. Ducasse does not feel good about the situation.
Costa calls Jones saying that he is having trouble getting jurisdiction over the body because of Jones' connections to the masked vigilante. Meanwhile, Sallinger prepares for his next move. He taunts Jones all day long with videos. One of them states that Jones got her powers when her family died. Jones realizes that he wants to kill Dorothy since Trish has powers. Meanwhile, Walker enters her mother's house to find her duct taped to a chair with bloody scars all over her dead body. Trish screams for help then gets a call from Jones trying to warn Dorothy. Jones arrives to find that Trish has gotten to Sallinger. She brutally punches him and has a knife in her hand about to stab him. Jones stops Trish before she makes a bad mistake. Jones knocks Trish out and carries her away before the police arrive.
Jones cleans the blood off Walker and goes to see Sallinger in the hospital. She infiltrates the hospital and gets the bandaged Sallinger. The murderer explains that he had cameras all around the apartment that got Walker's face as she beat him up. He will release it to the public if Jones doesn't get the DNA from Silva's body and destroy it. Now wanting to lose her sister, Jones complies and thinks of ways to sneak in. She gets the help of Gelden, who knows a police officer, Carl Nussbaumer. Nussbaumer is a bad man, but he could still help. After a bit of convincing, he helps Jones get into the lab and destroy the DNA. Meanwhile, Ducasse quits his job with Hogarth.
Later, Gelden is not satisfied with Nussbaumer because he has killed many civilians in the past. He enlists the help of Walker to get a confession on video. However, during the altercation, Walker delivers a blow that kills the cop on accident. Gelden reveals that he feels much better, like something in him was lifted. The last security footage seen of Nussbaumer is with Jones, this turns the cops onto her. They do some interrogation, but cannot find anything and leave the apartment. Jones thinks Gelden did it and confronts him. She finds no signs of punches to his knuckles. He tells her he didn't do it, but is glad Nussbaumer is dead. Meanwhile, Hogarth helps Kith with many legal things following Peter's death. Kith knows Hogarth is trying to make Kith forgive her so she walks away.
Jones looks into Nussbaumer's belongings and finds a contact for Jace Montero. She then leaves for Dorothy's funeral service. Walker also finds Montero's information. Gelden tells her that he met Montero a long time ago and Montero gave him such a bad headache he was sent to the hospital. Meanwhile, Hogarth visits Walker and tells her she has footage revealing that Walker is the Masked Vigilante. However, she will destroy it if Walker steals something from a man named Demetri Patseras. During the service, she notices bruising on Walker's wrist. She then hears sirens and realizes it's for her and excuses herself so that the funeral isn't ruined. Later, Gelden infiltrates Montero's facility and finds Walker brutally beating Montero.
The next day, he visits Jones and tells her what happened. He also tells her that Montero's pain on him didn't go away. Instead he felt even more pain, indicating that he sensed evil within Walker. Later, Walker goes into the hospital to finish off Sallinger only to find that Jones is protecting him. She takes Sallinger back to his apartment while Gelden and Ducasse catch Walker and tie her up. Jones returns to her own apartment and does research while drinking her whiskey. However, the whiskey was laced and she passes out. When she wakes up, Sallinger is recording her. Sallinger and Jones argue about his morality and in the process he admits to many murders. Jones then breaks out of her restraints and punches Sallinger. Gelden runs in saying they got it on camera. Jones calls Costa who arrives at Jones' apartment to find Sallinger tied up with his confession playing on a screen.
With Sallinger arrested, Jones unties Walker and tells her the work is finished. However, Walker is not satisfied. Later, Jones and Costa go to the jail to interrogate Sallinger. Upon arrival, they hear screams and rush in. Sallinger is found bloody and dead in the elevator. The Masked Vigilante has killed him. Jones and Costa agree that she needs to be stopped.
Jones returns to her apartment to find Luke Cage waiting for her. He tells Jones about how he had to send his brother to prison. No matter how hard it was, he had to do what was right. He hopes Jones would do that same. Meanwhile, Walker is on the run, but wants to stop more people that she deems "bad". She calls Hogarth asking how bad Patseras is. Walker arrives to kill Patseras, but is forced to flee when his wife calls 911. Ducasse confronts Hogarth accusing her of sending Walker to kill Patseras. Hogarth simply says that it is better Patseras than her.
Later, Walker goes to Hogarth's apartment and holds Kith hostage in order for Hogarth to agree to get Walker out of town. Hogarth pulls a gun on Walker when Jones arrives. Hogarth doesn't want Kith to die and agrees to Walker's terms. She then shoots Jones in the leg before leaving with Walker. Hogarth brings Walker to a friend who can get her out of the country through the mail. Walker gets put in a box and shipped. Meanwhile, Jones releases the Masked Vigilante's identity on social media so that fans could say where they last saw Patsy. Once Walker is locked in the box, Hogarth calls Jones to tell her the location. Jones arrives, trying to reason with Walker. However, Walker pulls a knife out. She stabs Jones which impales her palm. Jones looks at her sister in disgust and then knocks her unconscious.
Later that day, Costa sits with Walker in jail and lists all of her crimes. It is then when Walker realizes she is the bad guy. After recent events, Jones decides to leave New York. She packs her bags and gives the keys to Ducasse, telling him not to screw up. Meanwhile, Costa meets with Gelden at a bar. They agree to help each other and Gelden points him to the direction of someone who is bad. Jones arrives at the airport and buys a one way ticket to El Paso. However, as she leaves, she hears the voice of Kilgrave in her head saying it's okay to give in. She decides to stay in New York.
