Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark is a competitor of Justin Hammer who, when wearing a suit of armor, becomes Iron Man. His tower was attacked by Hammer during a Christmas party.
Biography[]
Stark Charity Event[]
- "Tony, it's an emergency."
"Whoa! Trouble here, too. Soccer moms are cornering Cap. Gotta go." - ―Happy Hogan and Tony Stark[src]
On Christmas Eve, Tony Stark attended a Stark Charity Event in New York City, dressed as Santa Claus, joined by Steve Rogers, who was dressed as an elf. Stark had several children tell him what they wanted for Christmas, including one that wanted a replica of Captain America's Shield. Stark received a call from Happy Hogan, but quickly hung up to help Rogers as he was swarmed by fans.[2]
Attack on Avengers Tower[]
- "I'm sorry about the party, Tony. I'm sure insurance will cover most of it."
"Are you kidding? You're the only insurance policy I'll ever need." - ―Freak and Iron Man
Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers arrived at Avengers Tower, responding to a security breach. There, they witnessed Freak destroying the Hulkbuster armor, and assumed he was their enemy. As the Avengers engaged Freak in a fight, Iron Man tried to retrain the monster, along with Captain America and Black Widow, only to be thrown off.
Captain America wondered if Freak was Happy Hoagn, but Iron Man dismissed the idea. The Avengers continued the battle and managed to subdue Freak, but Darcy Lewis then jumped in and claimed that Freak was not their enemy, realizing that he was actually Hogan. Lewis then pointed out at the real enemy was Justin Hammer. Iron Man disabled the Hulkbuster armor, and Hammer fell off the tower, but was saved by Freak. Iron Man and the others then congratulated Freak for stopping Hammer's plans and went on to celebrate Christmas together.[2]
