Synopsis for "Suite No. 7: Scientia Vincere Tenebras"
Prodigy picks up his phone and sees over a hundred missed calls from his boyfriend, Speed, and calls him back. Before David can get a word in edgewise, Tommy races into his room in the Boneyard. Tommy tells David he has proof David wasn’t killed - prior to his resurrection - by O.N.E. like he thought, and produces a picture of the two of them together the night of the attack. Prodigy is stunned and confused by the information, but Tommy cheers him up with a kiss.
The Five send Prodigy an envelope they received from a club in Hollywood, along with a note from Elixir saying they resurrected David because the report of his death was mailed to them.
Daken confronts Aurora on the Boneyard’s staircase and says she’s afraid of him. Aurora admits she’s scared Daken’s power over pheromones is manipulating her feelings for him. But when Daken says he can’t create feelings from scratch, only amplify what already exists, Aurora recognizes her feelings are genuine. She tells Daken to kiss her, but Akihiro playfully declines. Northstar shouts for him from the ground floor, and Daken tells Aurora he’s off to follow Siryn to find out the truth behind her recent deaths. Daken meets Jean-Paul downstairs. Northstar tells him to take fleet seeds with him so he can contact X-Factor, and reminds Akihiro he’ll kill him if he breaks Aurora’s heart.
Later, Daken calls the Boneyard from a payphone. Polaris answers and tells Northstar Akihiro forgot the fleet seeds. Daken tells Lorna that Siryn left Krakoa through the Barcelona gate, but backtracked and now they’re in Alberta, Canada, heading south. Lorna, under the influence of Siryn’s sonic hypnosis, lies and tells the team they’re still in Spain. Eye-Boy picks up on Polaris’ body language and knows she is lying, but is unsure why and says nothing. Northstar tells the team to split up into pairs - one questioner, one lie detector - and go talk to people close to Siryn. Polaris says she’ll go to the Braddock Lighthouse and pair up with Prestige. Northstar goes looking for Prodigy and runs past Tommy, himself speeding out of the Boneyard. Tommy geeks out over Northstar’s self-professed top speed as David shuffles him out the door.
The pairs of Northstar and Prodigy and Aurora and Eye-Boy take their investigation across Krakoa. They speak to Banshee, Dazzler, Madrox, and Havok, none of whom have any useful information about Siryn’s recent behavior. All the while, Polaris ignores repeated phone calls from Daken.
On the side of a snowy, desolate road, Akihiro hangs up the pay phone. Over his shoulder, he tells Siryn - possessed by the Morrigan - that his team is coming, then runs for a dilapidated barn nearby. The Morrigan quickly catches up to him and beats Daken within an inch of his life. She drops him from the roof, impaling him on a broken post. The Morrigan tells Daken his team doesn’t care about him and will never find him, then flies away.
X-Factor reconvenes at the Boneyard as Kyle is leaving for the Braddock Lighthouse to babysit Shogo while Excalibur is in Avalon. Kyle offers to help with the investigation. Northstar says Siryn has been distant from her friends and family lately. Kyle suggests looking into anyone Theresa has recently started dating, since isolating someone from their relationships is a telltale tactic of an abuser. At that moment, Rachel returns from the Lighthouse and asks what’s going on. When Lorna insists she and Rachel worked together that day, Eye-Boy shouts that she has been lying all day. Northstar tells Rachel to pull whatever is corrupting Lorna out of her head. Rachel dives into Lorna’s memories and tracks her back to her confrontation with Siryn, where she sees the sign of the Morrigan. Rachel removes the psychic blocks from Siryn’s hypnosis and Polaris reveals what she was prevented from saying days ago - that Daken and Siryn left Krakoa through the Alberta gate. Northstar instantly speeds away. After a seven-minute search of Western Canada, Jean-Paul is able to find Daken and rescue him from his impalement.
Later, Aurora finds Daken as he is recovering in the hot springs in the caves beneath the Boneyard. Jeanne-Marie asks him what happened with the Morrigan. He tells her he’s afraid Krakoa and X-Factor have made him soft and that he should have died in Canada. Aurora leans in and kisses him and tells him not to disappear like that again. The tender moment is interrupted by Northstar shouting for his sister from another floor. She tells Daken that her brother is still recovering from trauma, too, and goes to find him.
That night, Prodigy, Eye-Boy, and Daken are huddled in the Boneyard’s living room, hiding in the dark. Trevor stares up at the ceiling and says the rest of X-Factor is dead. Daken turns off the glowing television and finds Northstar and Aurora’s bodies. Each of the Beauviers has a crown of flowers around their heads. They are on their knees, foreheads together, blood pooling as the Morrigan’s symbol glows red on the floor beneath them.
