History

The Wizardry Alchemy Necromancy Department, often identified as "W.A.N.D.", was S.H.I.E.L.D.'s magic defense division, dealing with supernatural threats.

When it appeared that Doctor Strange had gone rogue, Director Pandora Peters made Ross' Thunderbolts aware of this so they could take him out. To help them in their mission, W.A.N.D. provided the team some special equipment, but made them believe that they had acquired it after battling Doctor Druid's ghost, so the organization's existence would remain a secret.

In the end, the evil Doctor Strange turned out to be the True Faery king Oberoth'm'gozz, who had kidnapped the real Strange. After his defeat, Strange was returned safely and W.A.N.D. re-possessed their artifacts, making the Thunderbolts forget the whole thing.

After S.H.I.E.L.D. was disbanded, most agents of W.A.N.D. became outlaws and formed the Blasphemy Cartel, but Pandora eventually reformed W.A.N.D. with the help of Wong, soon adding Doktor Zee to their ranks as well.
