Synopsis for 1st story
Spider-Man is staking out at a location while trying to call Harry, who is supposed to work with him today. After failing to reach Harry, Peter decides to contact Otto. However, Otto does not know where Harry is as he is not privy to his employer. Furthermore, Otto is currently busy with a project. Peter soon ends the call when he sees henchmen of the Demons gang committing a bank robbery.
Spider-Man intervenes and subdues the Demons until their boss Mr. Negative arrives. Negative tells Spider-Man that he knows what he and the Goblin did to the Black Cat a few weeks ago and explicitly intends to exact revenge for his colleague. After learning the Goblin is not present, Negative takes control of the minds of every patron in the bank, forcing them to attack Spider-Man. Negative and his men then make their leave.
At night, Peter returns to his home, battered and his costume damaged, to find MJ waiting for him. The two discuss what happened at the bank and their concerns on Peter's heroic career that might endanger their family.
Meanwhile, the Kingpin and the Sinister Six learned about Negative's encounter with Spider-Man. Fisk is left displeased that Negative decided to let Spider-Man go. Negative explains that he and his opponent were at a stalemate, as Spider-Man was not only a formidable fighter but he has a stronger will that can resist Negative's mind-control; in which it was why he used the mind-controlled citizens as a distraction for escape. Black Cat, who is confined to a wheelchair, introduces his daughter Felicia to serve as his substitute in charge of his territory. Fisk is still very angered that there hasn't been any real results in which he orders his subordinates to immediately settle their personal distractions and agendas, and focus on stabilizing his "kingdom".
Peter meets Ben at Memorial Park to commemorate the anniversary of Aunt May's passing. Ben discreetly tells Peter that he knows about his nephew and Harry's double-life as vigilantes. He also reveals that Jonah Jameson isn't aware but will likely know soon. After Peter informs Ben about having the same conversation he had with MJ, Ben approves what Peter is doing as there must be people (including Ben himself) who have to stand up to evil. Peter finally gets a text message from Harry, who is waiting for him outside Memorial Park in a black SUV. Before Peter leaves, Ben tells his nephew that he has lived long enough to see his wife's passing and he is ready for whatever happens next. He then questions Peter if he can say that. Peter takes a moment to think before answering no.
