The Talokanil originated from a Mayan tribe that ingested a Vibranium Mutate plant brought by a Mayan priest to survive the diseases brought by the Europeans. This mutation distanced them so much from their humanity that they could no longer breathe terrestrial oxygen, which is why they had to go underwater and found the kingdom of Talokal, with the mutant member of his species being crowned king.
