Synopsis for "Book Two"
Canada, 1907: Rumors about clawed wild man living in the woods are spreading. In a saloon, the chatter attracts Hugo Haversham who is collecting strange beasts for his animal show. In his company are Clara, who has the gift of being good with animals, and the tracker named Creed. Another person interested in the clawed man is Dr. Essex who not only possesses money, but also “bred” muscle called the Marauders to protect himself. After Haversham and his company have left the saloon, Essex kills the man who was telling the stories about the clawed man. Essex had no intention that outsiders learn about his experiment involving the polar bear.
With the help of a young boy, Essex tracks down Logan and his Marauders use gas to drive him out of the wooded area. But Logan is carving a bloody path through the Marauders and escapes again. Despite this outcome, Essex is excited to see that the wild man is a mutant.
Now Creed tracks down Logan who severely injures one of Creed’s men. Then Clara gets closer to Logan and tries to calm him down. This distraction is all Creed, and the rest of his men need to overpower and tie up Logan. Clara is furious about Creed’s tactics and states that he is worse than the wild man.
In the evening, Hugo Haversham presents his audience “The Clawed Man of the Woods” in a cage …
