- Gloria, the "Weird Woman", was created in the story "Weird Woman", written by an unknown writer and penciled by Joe Sinnott, and published in Amazing Detective Cases #11 (March, 1952). She and Perry Hammond are the earliest appearances of mutants in Marvel Comics (at that point Atlas Comics), save for retcons such as Namor, stated to be a mutant only years later (See the publication history of mutants in Marvel Comics).
