—Fix-It Man[source]So remember, when super-powered disaster strikes, call in the Damage Control family -- You'll be glad you did. Isn't that right, Fluppy?
Fluppy the Fix-It Puppy is a bulldog and the mascot of Damage Control.
History
As part of his "image enhancement" marketing program for Damage Control, Henry Ackerdson created the company mascots Fix-It Man, Fix-It Girl, and Fluppy the Fix-It Puppy.[1] Fluppy was the only one of the trio that stuck around and even became the logo for Damage Control.[3][4][5][6]
In the field, Fluppy usually accompanies foreman Lenny Ballinger to disaster and construction sites.[2][7][8][9] Despite being promoted from being an intern, Bart was still responsible for walking Fluppy.[10]Attributes
Powers
In his commercial appearances, Fluppy the Fix-It Puppy was depicted as being able to fly.[1] In reality, Fluppy has never demonstrated any such power.
Notes
- In Fantastic Four (Vol. 3) #37, Lenny Ballinger refers to his bulldog as "Dizzie". It is unclear if this is a nickname for Fluppy, a completely different dog, or an editorial mistake.
Trivia
- Fluppy's signature bark is "Werph!"[1][11]
- In Damage Control: The Movie, a bulldog was thrown up in front of the moon to form the Damage Control logo.[12] This was likely a nod to scene in Tim Burton's Batman from 1989.
