Handir, son of Haldir, was the penultimate Chieftain of the Haladin and a Lord of the Mannish settlements of the land of Brethil, in the First Age.
Biography[]
Handir was born in the year 441 of the First Age. He was said to be a great warrior, and served as chieftain and Lord of the Men of Brethil around the time of the Nírnaeth Arnoediad.[2] During his lordship, Orcs invaded his lands, and leading the fight against them, he was slain in battle north of the Forest of Brethil. His people were driven back into the woods.
Handir was married to Beldis of the House of Bëor and had one son, Brandir.[3]
