Círdan
- Niënor is born in Dor-lómin; meanwhile, her elder brother Túrin arrives in Doriath and is received by Thingol.
- Siege and capture of the Havens of the Falas; Brithombar and Eglarest. Círdan leads the survivors including Gil-galad to the Isle of Balar. Some Elves from Brithombar and Eglarest may also migrate to Belfalas to establish the haven of Edhellond.
- Turgon's last attempt to send emissaries (including Voronwë) to Valinor looking for the Valar.
- The loss of other major Ñoldorin realms save for Gondolin and Nargothrond which still remain hidden.
