It feels weird to watch documentaries on people or topics you are already obsessed with.
Pepsi Phil really is one of kind, love him or hate him he has such a captivating charisma that leaves you desperate for more. He could so easily be a legit cult leader, I'd jump off a bridge for him he's so suave.
So much has happened in the last 12 years that makes his whole story so interesting. He was addicted to wrestling and the business poisoned him just as the drugs and alcohol did to others. I mean look at his face during those last WWE and AEW years. But he left, yet grew even larger over the seven years he was gone. His absence only increased his infamy. I find it all so fucking interesting, and CM Punk is so god damn cool I loved this but didn't think it was actually that well made on rewatch.

Really wish I loved this more and if anyone other than Baz Lurhman were directing I probably would’ve.
Leads are great, the Duke and Zidler have their moments, Toulouse was insufferable. Typical nauseous Baz visuals at parts but is gorgeous when it slows the fuck down. The story is both charming in its simplicity (I’m a sucker for love conquers all) yet equally it’s very predictable, not in a ‘it’s so tragic we can see where it’s going but the characters can’t’ and more of a ‘I can kinda check out now since I know the next four scenes.’
Overall, Ewan McGregor is a cutie patootie so I’ll give it a heart.

]]>Thursday, October 31st. The city streets are crowded for the holiday. Even with the rain. Hidden in the chaos is the element, waiting to strike like snakes. And I'm there too. Watching. 2 years of nights have turned me into a nocturnal animal. I must choose my targets carefully. It's a big city. I can't be everywhere. But they don't know where I am. We have a signal now, for when I'm needed. When that light hits the sky, it's not just a call- it's a warning. To them. Fear is a tool. They think I'm hiding in the shadows. But I AM the shadows. I wish I could say I'm making a difference, but I don't know. Murder, robberies, assault- 2 years later, they're all up. And now this. This city's eating itself. Maybe it can't be saved, but i have to try. PUSH MYSELF. These nights all roll together in a rush, Behind the mask. Sometimes in the morning i have to force myself to remember everything that happened.
