When you're all driving carpool and banging your pilates instructors to fill the empty voids in your life, we'll see who gets the last laugh.
A pretty great sequel that measures up to the original and I think anyone who was a fan of that will enjoy this. It returns Michael Keaton obviously, who is stellar and seems like he never missed a beat, as well as Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara (Jeffrey Jones is written out in hilarious fashion). They are really good too and Jenna Ortega is the main new addition. I love her and she's perfect for this world as you'd imagine.
The story follows the Deetz family reuniting in Winter River and mostly centres on Jenna Ortega after a portal to the afterlife is opened. The movie is a perfect blend of horror, humour and heart. I've seen some reviews mentioning a messy plot, but it's not like the first film is much different. That was largely a series of vignettes and this actually has a bit more off an emotional story I would say. Either way, the main strength are the tremendous visuals, art design, effects, etc. There isn't really a single boring moment because everything looks so great and there are just a lot of fun gags and everything in the afterlife is super entertaining. Overall this is an excellent horror comedy for Halloween season.
