Ngl I forgot that at points this is literally the goofiest thing I’ve ever seen lmao. Still a great time. Also I swear I kept on reading that Luca guadagnino was going to direct a remake with the coen brothers doing the screenplay but I guess that’s not happening anymore??

I'm Thinking of Ending Things 2020
Like literally every Charlie Kaufman film, more about it clicks every time I watch it. Literally nobody can replicate the level of existentialism and beauty that he adds to his films.

Down by Law 1986
The we all scream for ice cream thing is cemented in my memory because for some reason my dad repeatedly showed me that scene when I was a child and told him I wanted ice cream. Great time though. Roberto Benigni did a good job.

Anora 2024
Sean Baker really is on top form here, like I honestly could have lived in the world of this film for hours. The characters are all so well realised and acted, and the way the chaotic energy just kept building in the second half was so exhilarating and I just didn’t want it to end honestly. Really glad that he’s breaking more and more into the mainstream lately.

Stop Making Sense 1984
I got the 4K physical release for Christmas and it had the extended cut that includes CITIES and I ZIMBRA which are both literally some of my favourite talking heads songs :)))))

The Silence of the Lambs 1991
I’ve seen this so many times and it’s still just as captivating as when I first saw it. The horror genre honestly doesn’t get better than this.
Even you don’t enjoy horror films, you owe it to yourself watch this at least once. It’s……. literally perfect????

Mikey and Nicky 1976
Thought it was a little slow in the first half but it got way better as it went along. The way Elaine May wrote this was so realistic and well thought out that it almost felt completely improvised, like you could understand the characters and their relationship dynamics completely from the very beginning. Reeeally wanna rewatch this sometime, could definitely see myself falling in love with it after I give it some time to sink in.
