I love the thought of a director waking up one morning with the intention of making a movie about how beautiful family relationships can be.
In this film no one uses a mobile phone, iPads or watches TV. Everyone walks and patiently waits for buses. Siblings communicate in a respectful and loving way. No one talks politics, watches the news or scrolls social media. The siblings are not selfish but giving. School is welcoming and students friendly. Money is not…
This took such a strange turn from focusing on the 'IT girls' to the 'Park Avenue Peerage' author. No doubt the author was an interesting story; the problem was they spent way too long on her.
I can't believe how bad this movie is. I was expecting something either fun or deep. This was neither. It's only saving grace is that it is solid middle class and didn't bring in the rich/ poor mean girl dynamic like most 2000 era school movies. If this is representative of USA school life at the time, I feel sorry for those who had to experience it. A bunch of degenerate bullying and sexual predators.
What a family! What a school! Just imagine if her sister supported her to stay Vegetarian.
I am officially disturbed. I came into this a little unprepared, but after nearly gagging three times at various scenes, I still couldn't help but watch and enjoy this film. It is captivating, fascinating, enjoyable and sickening all in one.
