I am planning on rewatching this move one more time before the sequel comes out this June. But it doesn't hurt to re-review this now, especially with the release of the new trailer for Across The Spider-Verse . This film, from an artistic standpoint, is pretty much the closest an animated film has come to perfection. It truly is one of the all-time greatest movies ever made. First off, the animation is still as stunning as it was back when I first watched it in 2018. Every frame and every shot is clearly handled with such precision and care, and it truly looks like a Marvel comic come to life. And the story is such a powerful story, as Miles Morales' story is by far one of the greatest origins for a cinematic adaptation of a superhero. We also get fantastic interpretations of other characters as well, with Peter B. and Spider-Gwen being standouts. While the villains aren't truly on par with the rest of the cast, Prowler, Kingpin, and Doc Ock all have great moments too, especially in Prowler's case. The action is amazing, as well. The score is spectacular, same with the soundtrack. The humor mostly lands, and the emotional moments are handled sensationally. The leap of faith may be the single greatest comic-book movie moment ever. This film is quite literally better than almost every MCU film that's ever come out. Every time I watch this movie, I notice something new. I feel the same emotions I did when I watched it last, only even more this time. It gets better with every subsequent viewing, and if I watched it enough times I may end up making it my favorite film ever. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is a triumph, and I expect the two sequels coming this year and next year to be just as amazing....and if we're lucky, maybe this film will be surpassed entirely.
I guess we'll have to wait and see. Just remember though, IT'S ABOUT THE METS BABY LOVE THE METS HIT A HOME RUN---
