This reminded me of Megalopolis in that I think there is a good movie somewhere in both but they made such baffling choices that I couldn't really enjoy either. I'm not opposed to the idea of this movie as a musical but I really hated most of the songs and musical sections and thought they were really poorly executed. I felt like every time it started to build momentum they launched into some terrible or melodramatic song that completely killed it for me. It also took itself too seriously for me to enjoy it as a campy comedy. I did think Zoe Saldana gave a great performance and really held this movie together but overall I wouldn't recommend it.
